VIA Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that VIA Mobile360 M820 smart car system has obtained AWS IoT Greengrass certification. AWS IoT Greengrass seamlessly extends AWS services to edge devices and allows on-board systems to call locally generated data for real-time operations when an internet connection is unavailable, an important feature of a vehicle when it is on the road.

VIA Mobile360 The M820 is a rugged fanless intelligent vehicle system that supports rich and advanced assisted driving ADAS, driver monitoring DMS and environmental perception functions, including blind spot detection, forward vehicle collision warning, lane departure warning and panoramic surround viewing systems.

AWS IoT Greengrass
AWS IoT Greengrass seamlessly extends AWS to edge devices to operate on-premises data generated while still using the cloud for data management, analysis, and long-term storage. Devices connected via AWS IoT Greengrass can run AWS Lambda functionality, Docker containers, or both. Perform predictions based on machine learning models, keep device data synchronized, and communicate securely with other devices (even if not connected to the network).
