Chairman of Taiwan’s Quasi-Street Foundation Tian Hongmao , whether it supports "Taiwan independence"? On the morning of the 5th, he accepted an exclusive interview with the host of the radio program "Koke Breakfast" by Zhou Yuke that he said that he is a "Taiwanese faction" and a "democratic faction" and only cares about Taiwan's future. Regarding the Taiwan independence movement, Tian Hongmao emphasized that "I can't do such a thing."

State Foundation will hold an extraordinary meeting of directors and supervisors on the 12th and elect Tian Hongmao as the new chairman. Tian made the above statement in an exclusive interview with Zhou Yukou this morning.

Tian Hongmao, 77 years old, was the chairman and president of the Cultural and Educational Foundation of the National Policy Research Institute. He served as a member of the National Union Council and a "National Policy Advisor". During the period of the Bian government, he served as "Minister of Foreign Affairs" and representative to the UK.

The host asked, Green Camp said you are a fake independent faction? In 2000, he advised Li Yuanzhe not to support Chen Shui-bian?

Tian Hongmao replied: When he returned to China, he got along well with Li Yuanzhe, and they were still neighbors. He had never said such a thing. He voted for Chen Shui-bian back then, and later became the "foreign minister" of the Banish government.

Question: Do you support the "Taiwan independence" movement? The green camp said you are a fake independence faction?

Tian Answer: "Domestic" tends to simplify complex problems, use one or two nouns to describe a person's seriousness behind symbolic politics. After others put a hat on you, there will be a series of associations. I think this is not good, and I hope to talk about the pragmatic aspect of the problem. What are the so-called "Taiwan independence" and "not Taiwan independence", what is the name of "Taiwan independence"? These nouns need to be hated. I am in my seventies now and don’t care! I am a "Taiwanese faction", I just care about Taiwan's interests.

Question: Do you support the "Taiwan independence and the country building" and "Taiwan independence", any form of "Taiwan independence"?

Answer: Isn’t the “Republic of China” already independent now? Many people say this, even Lu Xiulian said this, and the independent factionists also say this. What is the independence of the one? I don’t know. If “independence” means “constitution”, I must be corrected, constitution-making, and join the United Nations. I have been the “Minister of Foreign Affairs” and know that this is very difficult internationally. I didn't publicly object to it, but I knew there were many difficulties, I knew there were a lot of things I had to do, and I wouldn't focus all my energy on it. What I do is academic work, hoping to push Taiwan and democratic Taiwan to the international stage. This is what I care about the most. I have been doing this over the years.

Question, would you like to emphasize democratic Taiwan to be the "Republic of Taiwan"?

Answer: We have read about history, the name of the country, and the country name will change in the process of history. What will the Taiwanese people think in the future? I fully respect this. I am a "democratic faction" and respect public opinion. Cross-strait relations are very complex. My thinking about the direction of cross-strait issues is to look at the development of cross-straits from the international situation.

Question, what you mean is that it is not an independent faction and does not support "Taiwan independence", so why can't it be publicly admitted?

Answer: I have not participated in the "Taiwan Independence Movement" now. In recent years, I have done academic work. As the chairman of the Straits Foundation, I just want to do my job well and be able to deal with some of the current problems on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Question: You won’t publicly advocate the “Taiwan independence movement”?

Tian Answer: I can't do this. (China Review News Agency)
