2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Dongyang . We will review the administrative divisions and changes in Dongyang over the past 70 years.
5 May 8, 1949 Dongyang was liberated. On May 15, the Dongyang County People's Government was established. On May 19, the Dongyang County Committee of the Communist Party of China was established. The Baojia system of the Republic of China was abolished and established districts, towns, towns and villages. The total land area is 1978 square kilometers. On May 25, 1988, Dongyang abolished the county and established a city.
The early district division of the People's Republic of China
1949 at the end of 1949, including Chengguan, Lizhai, Shanglu, Weishan, Yushan, Huxi, Mazhai, Nanma, Huashui 9 districts, 8 towns and 36 towns.
On May 22, 1950, Xianggang and Linpu Districts were added. On June 16, the district people's government renamed the district office. From June to November, the townships were divided into 124 from the original 44. At the end of the year, there will be 11 districts, including Chengguan, Lizhai, Shanglu, Weishan, Xianggang, Yushan, Linpu, Huxi, Mazhai, Nanma, Huashui, and 124 townships.
On August 27, 1955, 6 villages in Jiexi Township and 11.33 square kilometers were transferred to Sheng County.
On August 6, 1956, the arable land area of Houyi Village, Baiyun Township and Pingshitou and Shifan Village in Ganxi Township was 76.7 hectares were assigned to Yiwu County; the arable land area of Xiwu Village in Nanma Township was 38.2 hectares was assigned to Yongkang County .
1957, 10 households and 60 people were transferred to Yiwu County.
On March 8, 1956, the district was abolished and the township was merged. Five districts, including Chengguan, Lizhai, Huxi, Nanma and Huashui, were abolished, and the 21 townships belonging to the county. On October 15, the water painting area was restored and Xianggang area was abolished. At the end of the year, there will be 6 districts: Shanglu, Weishan, Yushan, Linpu, Mazhai, and Huashui, 2 towns, Wuning and Weishan and 53 towns.
In November 1957, Chengguan, Nanma and Huxi districts were restored.
On March 28, 1958, Huxi District was abolished.

1958 At the end of September 1958, nine people's commune management committees were established in the district, including Chengguan, Zhenli, Shanglu, Weishan, Yushan, Huxi, Mazhai, Nanma and Huashui, and the townships were changed to 58 brigades (it was soon changed to management areas).
On November 21, 1958, the Pan'an County system was abolished, and 5 people's communes, 19 brigades (management areas), and 199 production teams were merged into Dongyang. By the end of the year, there will be 14 people's communes and 77 management areas, with a total land area of 3,030 square kilometers.
On September 20, 1961, the People's Commune Management Committee changed 10 district offices, the management area changed 74 People's Commune Management Committees, and 1,575 production brigades .
In January 1967, 30 production brigades of Lingbei People's Commune and land area of 61.544 square kilometers were assigned to Zhuji County.

1982 On December 28, 1982, the government and social groups were divided into groups to build a township, and the people's government in Huxi established a township. By August 1983, 77 communes and 3 towns had rebuilt town people's governments with the original communes and towns.
On July 13, 1983, the State Council approved the restoration of the establishment of Pan'an County, with 3 districts, 1 town and 23 townships, and the land area of 1,196.43 square kilometers was transferred to Pan'an County. The total land area of Dongyang is 1,746.81 square kilometers. At the end of 1983, it had jurisdiction over 6 districts, including Chengguan, Shanglu, Weishan, Huxi, Qianxiang and Nanma, 2 towns and 54 townships.
On February 27, 1984, a new 号南 district was established.
In order to expand the scope of the urban area and promote the abolition of counties and cities, Chengguan District was abolished in January 1987, Baiyun, Tingtang Township and Shanglu District Tangxi Township were merged into Wuning Town . Huangtianfan was changed to a direct town and was merged into Hongtang Township. Huaitang, Luoping, Nanxi and Wangkantou Townships were changed to county-level townships.
In January 1988, Weishan District was abolished, and the four townships of Weiping, Guguang, Xianggang and Hucun were merged into Weishan Town . Hulu revoked the township and established a town, and Dongbai and Baixi townships were merged.

On May 13, 1992, the five districts of Shanglu, Zuocun, Huxi, Qianxiang and Nanma and the two regional working committees of Weishan and Huashui were abolished, and 14 towns and 39 towns were adjusted to 18 towns and 8 towns.
On December 29, 2001, the five towns of Wuning, Hengdian , Lizhai, Shanglu and Dalian were abolished, and six street offices in Wuning, Nanshi, Baiyun, Jiangbei, Chengdong and Hengdian were established.
On October 8, 2003, from the original 17 towns, 4 townships and 6 street offices, it was adjusted and merged into 6 street offices in Wuning, Nanshi, Baiyun, Jiangbei, Chengdong and Liushi, Geshan, Weishan, Hulu, Zuocun, Dongyangjiang , Huxi, Hengdian, Mazhai, Qianxiang, Nanma, Huashui, and Sandan Township , which lasted until the end of 2018.
