[Jiangsu News] TSMC's legal person briefing was held on the 16th. The impact of Huawei's ban remains the focus of concern for legal persons. Chairman Liu Deyin said that will no longer ship Huawei after September 14, but the US government may relax the shipment of general products in Huawei.

Central News Agency reported that TSMC held an online legal meeting in the afternoon. Liu Deyin confirmed that with the change of US export regulations, TSMC has no longer received new Huawei orders since May 15 and will no longer ship Huawei after September 14. However, the US government may relax the possibility of shipment of general products to Huawei, but the final result remains to be seen.

Huawei is TSMC's second largest customer, contributing 14% of TSMC's revenue last year. The US government announced new export regulations on May 15, requiring manufacturers to supply chips that use American-made equipment or are designed based on American software and technology to Huawei, they must first obtain a US license. The market was once worried that TSMC's operating performance might be greatly impacted.

Liu Deyin revealed at the regular meeting of TSMC shareholders in June that if there is no Huawei order, other customers want to fill the gap. Before TSMC said that before the meeting, legal entities were generally optimistic that Huawei's order gap would be filled by smartphones such as MediaTek , Ultramicro (AMD ) and Xilinx (Xilinx) and high-performance computing customers.
