The performance group led by Taipei City Councilman Que Meisha, Taoyuan City Councilman Shu Cuiling and Wang Xianlian, and the community art team from many streets and towns in Yangpu District, Shanghai, contributed a wonderful exchange performance on the Yangpu People's Stage. During the

event, nearly 200 community "dancers" performed wonderfully by 9 community cultural teams from grassroots communities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, attracting park tourists and surrounding citizens to stop and watch. The audience also sang and danced to the music and applauded.

Taipei City Councillor Que Meisha said that the group dance performed by the team members is actually similar to the square dance popular in the mainland in their usual performances. It can bring these artistic performances that people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to Yangpu, and to share skills with mainland friends, show their style and exchange feelings. The team is very excited.

According to reports, the Shanghai-Taiwan Community Cultural Exchange Performance was held by Yangpu District for two consecutive years under the guidance of the Shanghai Taiwan Affairs Office and with the support of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Shanghai Women's Federation. In recent years, Yangpu District has actively relied on art forms that are popular among people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, such as square dance and community intangible cultural heritage, to carry out and promote cultural exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. The city and districts work together and the district and Taiwan work together to send art into the community, bring programs to the grassroots level, and bring in the emotions of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait in singing and laughing, and promote exchanges and integration between the people in the two places.
