Every year on the first day of the fifth lunar month, the dragon boat will be launched and rowed until the fifth lunar month before it ends. Once upon a time, there were many aristocratic families in Fuzhou that made dragon boats, such as in Fangzhuang, Fuzhou. According to villagers, 90% of the villagers once lived by building a good boat for generations. However, today, there are only two families left in Fangzhuang, and they are still sticking to the traditional craft of hand-built dragon boats.
Fang Jianwei is a young man born in Fangzhuang and is also the descendant of the only two remaining families who are still building dragon boats. It can be seen that 90% of the villagers have been building dragon boats for generations, but now there are only two remaining families. It really makes people sigh that some long-standing cultures are gradually fading out of people's sight.
Similar traditional cultures gradually fade out of people's sight. The most obvious ones include opera culture, market snack culture, and even our 24 solar terms. As the times are progressing, society is moving forward. For example, if people have TVs, computers, and mobile phones, why do people still need to watch traditional operas? If people have supermarkets and stores, why do they still need to go to the market to eat sugar plastic? Now that technological means have made agriculture more and more progress, isn't it a bit extra to cultivate crops according to the traditional solar terms? ?
I think that although our social science and technology are progressing, these traditional cultural skills are the crystallization of the wisdom and experience of the Chinese nation over the past thousand years. They may have experienced ups and downs before they have passed on these cultures. As future generations, we do not need to master every traditional skill, which is not realistic. However, we can choose one as a leisure activity for extracurricular and spare time. The country can also vigorously promote the establishment of these skill classes for everyone to choose and participate.
The traditional cultural education of young children should also be popularized. For example, many primary and middle schools will also open traditional cultural skills classes, such as paper cutting, embroidery, woodcutting, opera and other kinds of traditional cultural skills to provide children with contact and learning. This is a very good thing. Letting children engage in these meaningful activities in their spare time will also be of great help to their childhood growth.
Traditional culture must be carried out from our generation to preserve and maintain. Our country is at the moment of its rise in the world. Many foreigners have also begun to come to China to contact our culture. If we cannot preserve it ourselves, how can we promote our traditional culture in the world? (Zhengzhou University Dong Tingyu)
