The third Greater China MOOC seminar, hosted by the Greater China MOOC seminar and hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University, opened on the morning of July 22 at the Xi'an Jiaotong University Academic Exchange Center. More than 50 people, including experts and front-line teachers from universities in mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, the computer branch of higher education publisher, and the teaching supervisors of some brother colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province, gathered together to discuss in-depth issues such as how to build a series of MOOC curriculum system with a reasonable structure, how Chinese MOOC sharing and credit recognition are implemented in Greater China, and how the platform should act in innovation of MOOC-based teaching models, and exchange and share the progress and experience results of the promotion and implementation of MOOCs on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the four regions. The meeting lasts for two days and is held in the form of theme reports, seminars and exchanges.

Vice President Zheng Qinghua delivered a speech on behalf of the school, briefly introducing the history of Jiaotong University and the current construction and development of the Silk Road University Alliance in Western China. He said that from the perspective of the history of running schools, Xi'an Jiaotong University has unique nature and characteristics in the history of Chinese higher education. Today, Xi'an Jiaotong University is embarking on the third new journey of Jiazi with "inheritance, innovation, struggle and climbing". This seminar is also one of the important academic activities for the school’s Double Academic Anniversary. He thanked all relevant units for their strong support for this seminar. He hoped that through this conference, we will further promote new progress in MOOC course construction, resource sharing, mutual recognition of credits, and teacher-student exchanges in Greater China.
In his speech, Director Fan Yongbin highly affirmed the importance of this event, namely, learn from each other and deepen communication. He briefly introduced the development of higher education in Shaanxi Province and pointed out that Shaanxi is an important center of higher education in the country, and its development has both opportunities and challenges in the context of the "Internet +". MOOC is an important trend in the development of education. How to better integrate MOOC education with traditional education and make advantageous educational resources play a greater role requires us to think carefully together. He believes that MOOC construction should focus on advantages and avoid duplicate construction. He hopes that through the exchange and sharing of this meeting, the talent training and education and teaching model reform of universities in Greater China will take new steps, so that higher education in Greater China can achieve new leapfrog development.
Professor Li Lian speaks on behalf of the University's Computer Course Teaching Committee. He pointed out that the Greater China MOOC seminar has always aimed at "interconnection of Chinese MOOC resources, mutual visits to teachers in class, integration of MOOC standards, and mutual recognition of MOOC credits", and the content of the seminar has gradually become in-depth and pragmatic. MOOC education is the popularization of high-quality educational resources, with the goal of opening high-level courses to every school. He hopes to deeply explore the impact of MOOC education on the development of colleges and teaching through sharing and exchanges, and understand the profound connotation of MOOC education from multiple angles and levels, thereby promoting the construction and development of MOOC in colleges and universities in Greater China.
Academician Li Wei pointed out in the theme report of "Internet + and China Higher Education" that college education is currently facing problems such as uneven resources, lack of top talents, and insufficient development of information technology. How to improve teaching quality has become a core issue. He believes that the core of quality of higher education is the quality of undergraduate education, while the core of undergraduate education is the core basic courses and scientific and technological practice courses.Therefore, all universities should attach great importance to MOOC construction, seize opportunities, and jointly promote the sharing of teachers. It is the responsibility of all universities to do. He believes that MOOC promotion should combine the basic national conditions, comprehensively improve the quality of education management through Internet+, start from the development of scientific and technological experimental courses that are oriented towards verification, and form a new high-quality talent society with mass entrepreneurship, innovation and talent support.
Vice President Zheng Qinghua focused on introducing the construction of the "MOOC China" alliance with the title of "Building an Internet Education Public Service Platform". He pointed out that Internet+ is bringing the third educational revolution, and distance education has developed to the fourth generation - Internet+ education stage characterized by emotional interaction, knowledge discovery, and personalized services. In the context of the era of seeking larger platforms and more cutting-edge technical means in China, developing online education platforms that are aimed at enterprises and meet social needs has become an urgent need to improve the quality of the people. Therefore, the "MOOC China" alliance organization came into being. In recent years, the development scale of "MOOC China" has been expanding. In the future, it will continue to adhere to the development characteristics of "free, practical, exclusive, and short video", continuously promote the development and innovative practice of MOOC, provide educational opportunities and services to every scholar, and create the most suitable learning environment and experience.

Great China MOOC Seminar was founded in 2014. It aims to enhance mutual cooperation, improve the research and application level of MOOC in Greater China, and promote the educational and teaching innovation of Chinese MOOCs. The seminar steering committee held the first two forums in Gansu in July 2014 and in August 2015 in Taipei and Taichung, effectively promoting the research, construction and application of MOOC cooperation in Greater China.
