A Korean drama "Signal" in 2016 touched my heartstrings. In the play, Park Hae-young guard joins hands with Detective Lee Cha-han from the 1980s through the radio waves , who traveled through time and space. In order to comfort the victims, reflect on society, and not give up on the truth, challenging historical variables again and again.
Picture: Park Hae-young (left) and Lee Cha-han (right)
I am not an uncle, nor do I like young and handsome guys, and I only admire Aunt Kim Hye-soo.
However, I became very interested in the intercom in the play that connects two different time and space.
Picture: Stills, Korean KUKJAE PC-4312 walkie-talkie, KUKJAE brand does have it, PC-4312 model really doesn’t have
, but it’s not a big deal to talk to yourself.
When I went out to play, I grabbed one in my hand and called at any time when I walked. That feeling was like...
Picture: (omitted)
However, after searching online, I found that the walkie-talkie was like this:
without exception, this style is wrong. She would definitely not be happy to use such a walkie-talkie for my wife, and she would definitely lose contact in minutes...
Then I saw some public walkie-talkie with a girl. Although the appearance was quite OK, the weak transmission power and high price made me feel that I was not so tempted.
Although I think practicality is more important than flowery, can’t you get both practical, cost-effective and good-looking?
Baidu on Google , and my eyes suddenly lit up.
Who says that you can’t get both practical, cost-effective and good-looking?
Let’s take a look at the parameters:
Highlights:
1, public intercom/amateur mobile station in one. Since I don’t have a license, I can only use public walkie-talkies for girls at this stage. If the girl upgrades to HAM in the future, will she have to buy a new player again? With Xiaomi intercom, that's not a problem. Public/amateur in one, perfectly accompanying girls from entry to advanced. (And this thing really limits the amateur frequency band to only write frequency 430MHz-440MHz, 144MHz-148MHz, which is simply the industry's conscience)
2, battery capacity and standby/use time. If it is true, it is definitely an amazing parameter compared to other similar intercom products. Similar stupid, big, black and thick can basically not escape the routine rhythm of using one or two days and one charge every day, and it is even more fantasy to standby for a week. If you are used to false propaganda of some products, it may be possible to use it for 8 days or charge it once a day. So has Xiaomi exaggerated the battery life of the product?
3, MicroUSB charging. Xiaomi uses the common MicroUSB for single-cell power supply because it uses a single-cell MicroUSB. It can be said that even if the battery is not enough, you can add a power bank. Traditional walkie-talkies often have their own dedicated charging base, and since a considerable number of 7.4V battery walkie-talkies exist, there is no need to think about USB charging. 12V car charger also needs to be equipped with special items, or you can use borrowed electrical appliances. It only has one word to use, which is inconvenient, inconvenient, inconvenient.
4. Other than the parameter list: appearance, appearance, appearance. No need to say more. If you buy a bunch of stupid big black and thick black, buy a few Xiaomi walkie-talkies and put them together, and let the girl choose one to carry when traveling. If the girl doesn’t choose Xiaomi, I will eat girls live.
After a period of use and exploration, I deeply feel that using Xiaomi Mi’s walkie-talkie for my wife is the right purchase. Although I was tugged at my ears and blamed for spending money randomly when I went home, I had Xiaobai who could contact him at any time when I traveled. Even if I couldn’t see each other in my sight for the time being, my mental distance felt that my wife was always by my side.
As some people ask, what is the use of walkie-talkie? Isn’t it the same when using phone/sMS, QQ/WeChat?
is really different. Even if the non-reliance on the base station is excluded, the communication method of the walkie-talkie is still very different from the mobile phone.
WeChat, QQ, and SMS need to be actively collected and viewed, while phone calls are short-term real-time communication. If the other party sends the message, it may not necessarily read it if the other party sends the message. The phone calls require the other party to temporarily free up some of its energy to have uninterrupted conversations.
walkie-talkie is different. It stands for a long time at a certain frequency. Once the radio wave is received, it will actively play the voice instantly. You do not need to actively check and collect, nor do you need to stop what you are doing to answer. It is as casual as WeChat QQ, and as instant as a phone call. It calls the other end through the walkie-talkie, just like you are right next to the other party. The other party does not need to take out his cell phone to check it, or hold the cell phone and listen intently. As long as you say it, the other party can hear your voice immediately.
After a period of experience, it can be said that Xiaomi Mijia walkie-talkie has met my expectations for its function, and it has completed the basic communication task very well. However, since this is the first generation of Xiaomi’s trial of the waters in this field, controversy over design is inevitable.
Personally think that it mainly has the following aspects worth talking about in terms of performance, function and design:
1, problems in appearance, human-machine interface design:
(1), lanyard hole and headphone hole design have been criticized enough at the bottom of the body, so I won’t say much.
Picture: CD pattern design, not good-looking or ugly, but the position is very awkward, the hand platform is upside down, the antenna can only be inverted, the transmission and reception effect...
(2) The round and smooth volume knob has also been criticized by the little outdoor experts. It is considered to be a design made by outsiders, so it is not a question.
Picture: Smooth knob design, say goodbye to the outdoors. In the figure, the anti-slip design of a traditional intercom
(3), volume adjustment is not vector continuous adjustment, but digital hierarchical adjustment. I don't know what the designer's intention is.
That is to say, although there is a potentiometer, the volume adjustment effect is not continuous at all, but digital paragraph type, and the adjustment index value is fixed.
Figure: When operating the volume knob, the actual effect is that the volume increases by grid, rather than the potentiometer vector adjustment
(4), the turn on the opportunity to display the power-on logo that cannot be cancelled and play the power-on ringtone that cannot be turned off.
(5), When adjusting the volume, selecting the channel, editing frequency, or setting other functions, the volume (as shown in the picture above), OK, and other messages displayed on the screen will be displayed in full screen for one second, and other operations other than PTT cannot be performed here.
(6), When PTT, the screen displays the current transmission frequency, a meaningless microphone pattern, and the transmitting logo in the upper left corner. I think it's only necessary to send a marker in the upper left corner, just like when receiving it. Otherwise, such a large dot matrix screen (it is said to have a resolution of 160x100) would be a waste to display this content (not as much as the stupid, big, black and thick digital tube).
Figure: Screen display during transmission (top) and screen display during reception (bottom)
2. Power: Reactive and no over
0 public band power statutory, there is no room for maneuver. The amateur frequency band mobile phone is legally no more than 5W. The power of Xiaomi Mijia walkie-talkie 2W can be considered a compromise on battery life (but Xiaomi walkie-talkie does not provide the option of transmitting power, which is also a bit surprising), and it can also be considered as confidence in its own transmission/energy-saving effect. It is not difficult to blindly pursue high power. Domestic walkie-talkies with a pair of 100 yuan can achieve 5W without a false standard. However, the blind pursuit of high power is just like cameras blindly pursuing high pixels, cars blindly pursuing high power, and XX blindly pursuing large sizes. If you promote this indicator one-sidedly and exaggeratedly, it often means that other aspects are not good, and the combined experience of use may not be as you wish. So is there any difference between a 2W machine and a 5W machine? The actual use effect of
can be said to be expected. According to the experience of communicating with my wife during travel, the traditional intercom (called Xiaohei) as a comparison has 1W and 5W transmission powers respectively. In the 435MHz band, we pulled the distance to the edge of 1W transmission power. My wife took the Xiaomi intercom (Xiaobai) to receive Xiaohei's signal. At this time, my wife's voice was still clearly visible and the voice quality did not drop significantly.Adjust Xiao Hei to 5W and continue to increase the distance. The Xiaomi intercom first showed that the signal could not be delivered, and at this time, it could still receive Xiao Hei's radio signal normally.
can be considered that Xiaomi's 2W power communication quality has reached its due level, and there is no surprise. The 8cm short antenna it comes with is also a normal level. Using a more suitable antenna may achieve higher communication quality, but there are probably only a handful of suitable antennas that can be matched with a white body. If you care extremely about power and connection distance, giving up your appearance and choosing a traditional 5W mobile phone with a suitable antenna may be what you want.
3. Battery life: Surprise
has been buying the walkie-talkie for more than 20 days, and I also took it with me to play with many attractions on the Nanjing Garden Card with my wife. The only time I charged it was full when I first bought it. One day I forgot to turn off the power. Xiaobai and Xiaohei were on at the same time. It took a day and a night to find out that Xiaomi was still on, and the power was 3/4. Xiaohei's power switch was on and it was turned off automatically when it was out of power. However, as shown in the picture above, this thing is still half electric until today. I think the standby/use time mentioned in the official website should be without any vain. And Xiao Hei has been charged N times.
4, others: slim
FM broadcast: The effect is poor, there is obvious noise under the same conditions, and the effect of using the small black black cable of the 7cm short antenna is clear. It can be considered that Xiaomi antenna optimizes FM segment reception for general purpose.
external playback sound quality: The effect is average. When compared horizontally with Xiaohei, the Xiaomi external playback effect has obvious distortion.
menu operation: The style is similar to that of feature phones and home appliance remote controls, which tend to be easy to use and low threshold, resulting in complex menus and cumbersome settings, and the operation logic is not HAM-friendly. You cannot delete channels and enter text when leaving your phone.
Overall comment:
Xiaomi Mijia walkie-talkie, its product positioning is very clear: the first walkie-talkie that needs a public walkie-talkie, or the first walkie-talkie that temporarily needs a public walkie-talkie, and the group that may transition to amateur radio players.
Under this positioning, Xiaomi actually does a good job. Affordable price, useful performance, excellent battery life, public/amateur-friendly and radio equipment approved number, beautiful appearance, low threshold, similar human-machine interface and operating logic to other Mijia home appliances.
The reason why I chose such a walkie-talkie for my wife is that it is low-price, easy to use, long battery life, and is stronger than the communication performance of the walkie-talkie. In addition, it has a strong appearance and has been filtered all the way, but it has no competitor. The appearance is worth a lot of beauty, but it has better performance and many functions. It has better performance and more functions than it, but it has better appearance than it. What's more, it's not expensive. If its next-generation product can optimize operation logic and UI design, add waterproof functions, increase transmission power without discounted battery life, or use its Bluetooth and mobile phone to expand more interesting functions, perhaps Xiaomi Mijia Intercom can open up a unique world in this market.
