Today is the tenth day of coming to Taiwan. Before I knew it, I have entered the intermediate stage of this Taiwan study tour, which makes me sigh that happy days always pass quickly. After two days and one night of Jiuzu Cultural Village and Sun Moon Lake trip, we returned to campus, entered the classroom, and continued our professional study.
As early as before the two-day and one-night trip began, Teacher Yawei specifically reminded us that Professor Hong Yuru from the University of Culture will explain the comprehensive discussion of Taiwan’s food culture and must finish breakfast before going to class. Now, I am attending class on an empty stomach and looking at the dazzling food pictures on PPT, I can only complain and regret it secretly.
Through the teaching content of Teacher Hong, we have a more comprehensive understanding that Taiwan’s food culture is not only influenced by Fujian and other regions, but also changed from two meals a day to three meals a day, developing some heart culture , and forming a table culture; Japan’s food culture also influenced Taiwan’s middle and upper classes, and at the same time, Japanese food in Japanese food was also introduced to Taiwan; after 1950, mainland immigrants brought food from various provinces and cities in China, especially the eight major cuisines, inheriting the tradition of Chinese food; Taichung’s Dongxie Plaza gathered food from Southeast Asian countries... reflecting the openness and diversity of Taiwan’s culture, and also showing the richness and colorfulness of Taiwan’s food. At the end of the course, Teacher Bi, who led the team, let us taste the traditional Taiwanese pineapple pastry, which is soft and delicate, sweet and delicious, and has endless aftertaste.
In the afternoon, TVBS General Manager and Director of the Taiwan Cultural and Educational Foundation Teacher Li Tao gave us a special lecture on "Happiness Between One Thoughts". The lecture was presented in the form of a story, and introduced us to many touching real stories through many videos. Regarding the Cultural and Education Foundation, Teacher Li Tao emphasized that charity is not the patent of the rich. Only when all ordinary people support ten or ten yuan can the foundation raise funds and exist for a long time; Regarding education, Teacher Li Tao pointed out the three major problems facing Taiwan's current generation of education, external matching, and single-parent families, and pay attention to the reform of education methods. Without happy teachers, there will be no happy students. Finally, regarding Taiwan and the mainland, Teacher Li Tao even told his last advice from his father who was 108-year-old: We are all Chinese from Henan, and we must pass on our family loyalty. Only when Taiwan and the mainland are close can we be reunited.
After the day's schoolwork, I will freely move in the evening. Follow my schoolmate Weizhen and Rouan, and come to Xinzhuang, the hometown of Rouan, and ride the local public bicycles to search all the way. I will taste the stinky tofu, the fragrance of oyster omelettes, the sweetness of tofu, the softness of tofu, the softness of taro balls, and the deliciousness of onion cakes, and linger in every shop in the night market. Stepping onto the Crescent Bridge, the color-changing light sculptures seemed to stir up the reflection in the water, which was deeply fascinating. The most moving thing was still the vision on the bridge. Looking at the interweaving of rivers, wetlands, water birds and distant buildings, riding on the gentle breeze, it was refreshing.
has half of the journey. We will cherish every day here, look forward to the future outdoor interviews and four days and three nights of travel, and feel the most real Taiwan with our hearts! ( Author: Shandong University School of Management Student Dou Xingmin )
