According to reports, Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Ye Kuangshi said that night that the Kaohsiung City Government will promote the industry-university cooperation plan starting this year, hoping to assist business district organizations and public market transformation through the school's innovative energy. Among them, Liuhe Night Market, with the assistance of Hechun Technical College, promotes the halal signing of stall merchants, becoming the first halal night market in Taiwan, which is expected to attract the favor of international tourists and open up the business opportunities in the halal catering market. He stressed that more and more Muslim tourists are coming to Taiwan to travel. Compared with other ethnic groups, Muslims have a higher consumption capacity, so he hopes to bring more Muslim tourists through the innovation of Liuhe Night Market, and then drive the development of Kaohsiung's tourism.
Kaohsiung’s “Economic Development Bureau” stated that in September this year, Hechun Technical College joined hands with the “Muslim Tourism Industry Joint Development Association” to promote the “Halal Mark Food Signing Case” and guided 10 stall merchants to apply for “Halal Mark” to achieve success. In November, all stall merchants were advised to pass the halal mark. Today, the certificate issuance and listing ceremony was held. A total of stall merchants including papaya milk, ace tofu, bird eggs and shrimp roast, shredded sweet potatoes, good stinky tofu, grandma roast, Lin Jia Babao Ice, Restoration Nougat, Lemon Aiyu Bing, Qiaoweiting Aiyang Mushroom and other stall merchants were officially listed, making the first place in Taiwan and adding new highlights to Taiwan’s food culture and urban tourism.
