The flowers bloom into the sea, and are known as "the world's No. 1 azalea red" and are the most beautiful spring scenery in Yongzhou . Unlike the bustling tourist vehicles on the roads at this time in previous years, a large number of construction machinery and construction workers on the park roads of more than 20 kilometers are busy, implementing the finishing work of dozens of restoration projects to welcome the scenic spots and ensure that the 12th Hunan Yangmingshan "He" Cultural Tourism Festival is held as scheduled and will make a final sprint.

On July 2, 2017, Yangmingshan suffered a huge mountain torrent in a century, the park’s infrastructure was severely damaged, and the Hongyang Highway entering and leaving the main road was devastatingly damaged. The roadbed, road surface collapsed, and more than 100 landslides. The largest landslide was almost half of the mountain pouring down. The difficulty of restoration was comparable to the reconstruction of a road, and the scenic spot was forced to close the park and rebuilt. The post-disaster reconstruction work in Yangmingshan has received strong support from relevant municipal and county departments. In October 2017, more than 50 million yuan was invested to launch the road geological disaster restoration project. In order to speed up the project progress, since the implementation of the restoration project, the main leaders of the county party committee and government have been on site for dispatch many times. All cadres and staff of the Yangmingshan Management Bureau do not rest during holidays, and take turns to be on duty at the entrance and roads of the park every day, persuading uninformed tourists to return, and guiding vehicles entering and leaving the production of life. There were no traffic or safety accidents during the closed maintenance period, laying a firm foundation for reopening the park before the May Day holiday.
