In addition, at this year's World Power Battery Conference, the person in charge of CATL said that the M3P battery has been mass-produced and is expected to be launched on the market next year.

According to the information disclosed by CATL, the M3P battery is not lithium manganese iron phosphate, because the battery also contains other metal elements, so CATL officially calls the M3P battery the ternary of the phosphate system. In addition, since the cost of M3P materials is significantly lower than that of high-nickel ternary systems, M3P batteries can also be widely used in mid- and low-end models.

It is worth mentioning that the M3P battery is still an important part of CATL's future solution to the battery life of new energy vehicles. According to the person in charge of CATL, in the future, they will divide new energy vehicles into three segments, namely 1,000 kilometers of range, 700 kilometers of range, and 300 to 500 kilometers of range.

Among them, 700 kilometers of new energy vehicles, CATL will use M3P batteries instead of ternary materials and combine them with the Kirin battery structure, which can effectively reduce the cost of power batteries. This means that in the near future, more and more new energy vehicles with a range of 700 kilometers and affordable prices will appear on the market.

In addition, Tesla is also laying out lithium manganese iron phosphate batteries. Tesla CEO Musk said in March this year that Tesla has been using manganese in batteries. However, since Tesla is currently in the R&D stage and is not mass-produced so quickly, it will use lithium manganese iron phosphate battery from other suppliers, which is also the reason why Tesla will use CATL's M3P battery.
