Recently, the reporter learned that the Science and Education Museum of Xuwen Coral Reef National Nature Reserve (hereinafter referred to as the protected area) in Guangdong was completed and passed the acceptance. Shen Cheng, head of the technical department of the reserve, said that the newly built Coral Science and Education Museum is located in the base of the reserve with a construction area of 510 square meters. It is currently the largest coral-themed science exhibition hall in Guangdong Province.
Coral Reef Science and Education Museum is an overall planning to build an exhibition system based on physical specimens. It is a place that integrates collection, display, popular science, education, and experience, integrating modern scientific and technological means such as sound, photoelectricity, and VR experience. The
Pavilion has an exhibition area of "What is Coral", an exhibition area of "What is Coral Reef", an exhibition area of "Coric Reef Classification Overview", an exhibition area of "Coral Reef Electronic Interactive Exhibition Area", an exhibition area of "Comprehensive Classification Exhibition Area", a "Stone Coral Exhibition Area", a large coral reef scene experience area and a exhibition area of "Coral Protection".
Protection Area is located at the southernmost end of mainland China. It is the largest and most complete coral reef along the mainland coast of my country. It is also the most typical and unique coral reef ecosystem in China. However, coral reef ecosystems are an important ecological resource on the earth, providing habitat for more than 30% of marine organisms, and are of great significance in maintaining marine ecological diversity, maintaining fishery resources, reducing greenhouse effects, and protecting coastlines.
Therefore, coral reef protection work is about everyone. Shen Cheng said that the completion of the new museum will further improve the level of scientific publicity infrastructure conditions in the protection area, and provide a new and better window for promoting scientific knowledge of coral reefs.
