According to Taiwan media reports, the 2018 China Taiwan Lantern Festival was held simultaneously in Taichung Park and the Gang District Art Center from February 24 to March 11. Taichung and Qingshui each have 12-meter and 11-meter high main lights. Taichung Park is shaped like "Male Dogs' Far" and the theme of the Gang District Art Center is "Male Dog Guarding"; the main light show "Happy Welcome to the Rich" will be performed every night from 7:00 to 10:00. In addition to the colorful lighting effects, it also combines the flowers and smoke to bring the audience multiple sensory experiences.
It is reported that the theme of this year's Lantern Festival in Taichung City is "Happy to Wedding Wealth". The two main lanterns are "Fuwang Middle Platform" 12 meters high in Taichung Park, which presents the image of male dogs climbing up high and looking into the distance, and the 11 meters high in Qingshuigang District Art Center. The shape is designed to protect two cute puppies for female dogs. The two main lanterns are named after the word "Wang", which echoes the Year of the Dog in 2018. We hope that Taichung's economy can be more "strong".
Chen Shengshan, director of Taichung City Tourism Bureau, said that this year, he specially invited the 5-meter-high fan-shaped "Sanderman Lantern" in Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan to Taichung for the first time to be exhibited, and 3,000 Sandman Lanterns were prepared. It will be sold out immediately when it was sent to Taichung Park on the evening of the 25th.
Taichung City News Bureau pointed out that in the past, all palaces and temples held independent Lantern Festival celebrations. This year, the city government and the city jointly held lively festivals around the Lantern Festival, including the Wuqi Dynasty Yuan Palace, thousands of people stepped on the streets and music parties, the Lantern Festival Gala in Dajia Town and Qingshui Ziyunyan held Lantern Festival Gala, and the East District Lecheng Palace and the Lion Gallery, which made Taichung full of the Lantern Festival atmosphere.
