In 2022, Changsha supported Liuyang to create 240 beautiful and livable villages, ranking first among all districts, counties (cities) in Changsha. Liuyang has put pressure on itself, and a total of 300 beautiful and livable villages have been laid out, achieving full coverage of 31 agricultural townships (streets).
Liuyang insists on promoting the whole region, demonstrating key points, leading the whole, and improving overall, guiding staggered development, allowing characteristic towns and beautiful villages to be scattered, and creating a beautiful and livable village "Liuyang Model".
Industry prosperity
In early summer, in the vegetable greenhouse in Yonghe Village, Yong'an Town, Liuyang City, tomato seedlings are growing gratifyingly and fruitful. In a week, these organic tomatoes will appear on citizens’ tables.
In 2020, Yonghe Village introduced 1.3 million yuan to build a vegetable agriculture demonstration base by exploring the development model of "village collective + cooperative + company + university". Today, Yonghe Village has more than 200 mu of vegetables grown, with an estimated output of more than 1 million jin, an output value of more than 6 million yuan, an average annual profit of 1 million yuan, and has driven more than 40 villagers to find employment, and increased income by 150,000 yuan to the village-level collective economy in 2021.
Yong'an Town Mayor Zhu Yitao said, "There are 12 administrative villages in the town. We have determined the idea of achieving differentiated revitalization based on the natural endowment of each village. At present, we have gradually achieved the effect of clear industrial layout, obvious driving benefits, and positive participation of villagers."
On May 27, the first sunny after the rain, the Wonelsong Mulberry Garden in Dongmen Village, Daweishan Town, gem-like mulberries hanging on the branches, making the taste buds ready to move.
"Picking price is 35 yuan per catty, and the daily sales are tens of thousands of yuan." Deng Fangyong, the head of the mulberry garden, said with a smile, "After the mulberry picking is over, the peaches will ripen again!"
Daweishan fruit is well-known far and wide. In recent years, Daweishan has focused on the fruit industry and guided growers to update varieties and improve cultivation technology. At present, the fruit planting area in the town is about 25,000 mu, with an annual output of more than 4 million kilograms of fruits and an output value of over 100 million yuan. From July to August every year, Daweishan Town holds a Fruit Cultural Tourism Festival. The festival has been held for 11 sessions so far, producing good social and economic benefits.

The "May Day" holiday just passed, the "Little River in the Painting" has become one of the most popular destinations for short-distance travel for Changsha citizens. In 2021, as many as 300,000 tourists came to visit and experience, driving the rapid development of catering, homestay and other industries and promoting local income to increase by more than 20 million yuan.
In April this year, Liuyang City issued the "Ten Measures for Promoting the Deep Integration of Culture and Tourism in Liuyang City", proposing to target characteristic industries and advantageous resources, vigorously develop characteristic cultural tourism such as rural tourism, fireworks tourism, and study tourism, guide staggered development, and promote rural revitalization.

"A few years ago, we were still a poor village. Now, many people say that Tianxi Village is the appearance of a beautiful village in their hearts." Speaking of the changes in Tianxi Village, Li Jihuang, secretary of the village party branch and director of the village committee, had a bit of pride in his words.
