Taiwan's "Dongsen News Cloud" reported that after the Kuomintang Chairman Wu Dunyi came to power, he used an iron fist to safeguard the loyalty atmosphere within the Kuomintang. On September 6, the Kuomintang Discipline Inspection Association filed three party discipline sanctions cases to the Central Standing Committee, including the former Nantou County Mayor Li Chaoqing who embezzled, the Jinsha Town Mayor Chen Qide who received bribes, and the Keelung City Lieutenant, who joined the Democratic Progressive Party before the election.
Li Chaoqing and Wu Dunyi are fellow villagers in Nantou. Wu Dunyi used to serve as the "Premier of the Taiwan authorities" and also interacted with Li Chaoqing; however, as Li was involved in the ills, the two gradually drifted apart. Li Chaoqing was detained for being involved in a fraud case during his tenure as county magistrate. At that time, the Kaiji Association had decided to suspend its power when Li was detained. Now, it is a matter of revoking its party membership in accordance with the regulations.
In addition, Chen Qide, the mayor of Jinsha Town, Kinmen County, who is currently suspended, was sentenced to 11 years in prison by the court in the second instance and was revoked for party membership due to his former position as a criminal police brigade of Kinmen County Police Bureau. Another Keelung Party member Zeng Shengwei was directly expelled because of joining the Democratic Progressive Party.
According to the regulations of the Kuomintang, if the party membership is revoked, it must be restored after 3 years, and if the Kuomintang membership is expelled from the Kuomintang, it must be 6 years later. (End)
