In order to further prevent the cross-border transmission of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, from February 19, all people departing from the UK or transiting to China through the UK must undergo nucleic acid and antibody testing at the designated institutions of the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in the UK. The specific requirements are as follows:
1. Go to the designated institutions of the embassy and Consulate for nucleic acid and antibody testing
(I) Passengers to China should go to the designated institutions of the embassy and Consulate for nucleic acid (pharyngeal swab or deep sputum) and antibody (venous blood) testing on the day or two natural days before the departure of the flight from the UK to undergo nucleic acid (pharyngeal swab or deep sputum) and antibody (venous blood) testing. Tests conducted in non-designated institutions will not be used to apply for health codes.
(II) When passengers traveling to China take nucleic acid and antibody samples, they should remind the testing agency to file with the Chinese embassy and consulate in the UK in a timely manner after issuing the test report, and clearly authorize the testing agency to provide personal information to the embassy and consulate, including but not limited to name, gender, birthday, passport number, test results, etc.
(III) Persons whose nucleic acid and IgM antibody test results are negative (regardless of whether they are vaccinated with the new crown vaccine) can apply to the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in the UK for a health code with the "HS" mark or a health statement with the "HDC" mark.
2. Apply for a health code with the "HS" logo or a health statement with the "HDC" logo
(I) Chinese citizens should apply for a health code with the "HS" logo through WeChat applet (see http://uk.chineseembassy.org/chn/lsfw/lsxz/t1806019.htm). When submitting the information, in addition to the nucleic acid and antibody test reports, it should also include a trip slip and at least 1 document that can prove that the person has been staying in the UK for more than 28 days, such as a BRP card, student ID, a water, electricity, gas bill or bank statement with name and address, and the latest entry record.
(II) Non-Chinese citizens should apply for a health statement with the "HDC" mark through the web version of the Health Statement (see http://uk.chineseembassy.org/chn/lqfw/t1835218.htm). When submitting the information, in addition to the nucleic acid and antibody test reports, it should also include the itinerary and a valid visa issued by the Chinese Embassy in the UK (see http://uk.chineseembassy.org/chn/qzfw/qz/t1829526.htm).
3. Special reminder
(I) The global COVID-19 epidemic is still very severe, and international travel, especially cross-infection, is relatively high. It is recommended to "not travel unless necessary." If there are any urgent reasons to travel to China recently, please choose a route that will be transferred to China once after departure from the UK. For passengers who have transited twice or more after departure from the UK, the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in the UK will not approve the health code.
(II) It is understood that some transit passengers are unable to continue their trip because they have positive nucleic acid or antibodies during the test at the transit airport, or have encountered subsequent flight circuit breakers, and are stranded at the airport for a long time. If you really need a turnaround, it is recommended to ensure that you can return to the UK again.
(III) The health code reviewed and issued by the Chinese embassy and consulate in the UK is only one of the necessary conditions for boarding the plane from the UK. People traveling to China must also comply with the relevant requirements of the government of the place of transit and the Chinese embassy and consulate in the local area. Please be sure to understand the transfer, isolation, testing and health code approval regulations for the place of transit before departure, and fully understand the boarding requirements from the airline that intends to take the flight to avoid affecting the itinerary.
(IV) Passengers who leave the British flight before 12:00 noon, please be sure to submit a health code or health statement application before 21:00 pm the day before to avoid affecting the itinerary.
(V) According to relevant regulations, after the resumption of direct Chinese and British flights, the Chinese embassy and consulate in the UK will no longer approve the health codes of passengers who have transited to China after taking off from London. Passengers who do need to transfer to China in the near future will pay the tickets as close as possible on the day of departure to avoid unnecessary economic losses.
(VI) The Chinese Embassy in the UK will dynamically adjust the list of designated institutions according to work needs. People who go to China are requested to log in to the embassy website on the day of the appointment inspection to check the latest list of designated institutions, so as not to affect the itinerary due to the selection of non-designated testing institutions.
