Mauricio paid 14500 Brazilian real for the Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock version.

IT Home July 23rd news, in the past week, Amazon screwed up the matter of two customers buying graphics card . One of them purchased the RTX 3090 Ti and got a box of sand; the other customer purchased the RTX 3090, but received the RTX 3070 graphics card. Of course, this is much better than sand.

Amazon user Mauricio Takeda from Brazilian showed on TikTok how the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card he bought turned into a bunch of useless things. He didn't even receive anything like a graphics card. In fact, there are only a few jars and full sand in the packaging box.

Mauricio paid 14500 Brazilian real (approximately RMB 17804) for the Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock version. Now, the price of RTX 3090 graphics cards is usually between US$999 (about RMB 6753.24) and US$1499 (about RMB 10133.24), so the buying price of Mauricio is not cheap, of course, including Brazilian VAT.

After receiving the package, Mauricio Takeda found something wrong and asked his wife to record an unboxing video next to her to show it to Amazon as evidence. As mentioned above, the graphics card box was filled with sand, and Mauricio Takeda quickly uploaded the video to TikTok. Mauricio Takeda contacted Amazon support without effect because the vendor provided him with a link to delete his own Amazon account. Mauricio Takeda eventually filed a lawsuit in the consumer court, which made national headlines in Brazil, and since then, Amazon has begun to come forward to resolve the issue.

In some cases, the scammer returns different products in the packaging and asks the retailer to refund the money in full, and the retailer may not check the real items in the packaging. For example, a scammer might purchase an RTX 3090 Ti graphics card, but return the RTX 3060 Ti graphics card in the package and ask for a full refund. Amazon may make a full refund, and sometimes, these recycled items are unchecked and re-hooked on the website for sale without clarifying the properties of the goods.

The second customer is Patrick J Kennedy from ServerTheHome. Patrick recently purchased a new EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card (sold by Amazon) and although the graphics card box he bought showed normal models, the graphics card inside was a completely different model.

The user called out, "I was cheated by Amazon. I bought a new RTX 3090 graphics card, and the box was damaged after the arrival, and the result was RTX 3070."
