For the US market, after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted the Vietnam Airlines Administration Level 1 Aviation Safety Supervision Capability (CAT 1) approval certificate, Vietnam Airlines is visiting Seattle, Los Angeles , San Francisco is planned to open direct routes to the United States by the end of 2019 or early 2020.

To carry out this plan, during the second North Korea-US summit just held, under the witness of General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the State Nguyen Phu Trong and US President Trump , Viet Zhu Airlines signed from the United States Boeing Group ordered a deal to order 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliner worth nearly US$3 billion.

Previously, in 2018, Yuezhu Airlines had ordered 24 Airbus A320neo narrow-body aircraft (valued at US$3.2 billion) and 20 Boeing 787-9 wide-body aircraft (valued at US$5.6 billion), with a total order value of 8.8 billion. USD (about RMB 60 billion). With the additional purchase of 10 Boeing 787s, Yuezhu Airlines' aircraft order amount is about US$11.6 billion (approximately RMB 77.8 billion).

Yuezhu Airlines is currently operating with leased aircraft, and is expected to receive more than 20 Airbus and Boeing aircraft from March to May 2019, and it is expected to operate with 40 to 50 aircraft by the end of 2019, while the original plan is 20 to 30 shelf.
