A 41-year-old man surnamed Xu in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, broke into a hot pot restaurant in Xinxing District with a gun at 9:00 pm yesterday (19th) and shot a 38-year-old man surnamed Huang in public in the hot pot restaurant full of customers. All the guests were frightened. Kaohsiung City Councilor Li Yajing later posted a post wondering why there were so many guns in Kaohsiung and questioned, "In Kaohsiung, is it as easy to take out a gun as it is to take out a mobile phone?"
After receiving the report, the Taiwanese police did not dare to be careless. Kaohsiung City Police Chief Huang Mingzhao immediately went to the scene to understand the situation, saying, "Kaohsiung City will never allow gun violence to occur. I am really sorry for the citizens who were frightened while dining." The police then searched for the murderer all night. They surrounded Xu's car more than three hours after the incident, and successfully suppressed and arrested him without firing a shot. They seized two weapons and multiple rounds of ammunition at the scene.
Li Yajing couldn't believe it after hearing the news. She posted a message saying that even riding a motorcycle on the sidewalk can make Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qimai furious. "If you eat hot pot and eat Qingji (bullets), the mayor should go berserk!" And wondered, "Do Kaohsiung really have so many guns? In Kaohsiung, is it as easy to take out a gun as it is to take out a mobile phone?" (Lin Jingxian/Editor)
