The day after I bought it, I didn’t have any equipment, so I just wore shorts and beach sandals to test it. The Yongjiang Baili Gallery built in Nanning has paved cycling paths on both sides of the bank. The section I went to is far away from the urban area and there are fewer people. It rains a lot in Guangxi during this period, and the moisture in Yongjiang is yellow.
I am 176cm, and I rode it for the first time on the day I got the bike. I felt that the seat cushion was too high, so I lowered it to the lowest level. After riding for about 10 kilometers, my feet felt a little tired. Finally, I raised the saddle to the same height as the handlebars and felt better. The handlebars feel a little lower, and your arms are basically straight when riding.
When I went there, I rode on green roads for the entire 10km journey. I used 3rd gear in the front and 5th to 7th gear in the back. The fastest speed should be around 30km/h. It took 30 minutes in the end and the average speed was 19.5km/h. There was no time to rest in the middle - I started riding harder, going straight to 3X7 gears, and my legs were tired after about 6 kilometers. With the weather being more than 30 degrees, I felt like I was suffering from heatstroke and was dizzy.
The bearing hub should be more powerful. The car can slide far after pedaling, and the 3X5 and 3X6 gears are very easy. The greenway design also has some slight slopes, which can be easily climbed using 2X5 gears. When starting to change gears, you can't always reach the right position at once. After reading the manual, I learned that when changing gears in the front gear, you have to keep pressing it until the gear is changed before releasing it. I think the shock absorbing effect of the Giant ATX810 is pretty good. The bumps on this road are very small. It is much better than the spring shock absorption of the No. 9 XC, but it hurts my butt a little.
Disc brakes do feel much better than cable discs. I mentioned before in the No. 9 XC bike review that some roads here are slippery, but the braking performance of this bike is still trustworthy. However, cars priced under 3K use Yanhao brake parts. I heard that there may be oil leakage and malfunction, which is a bit scary.
After I bought this car, I rode it for 50 kilometers, on both green roads and highways. It gave me a good feeling, a bit of a riding pleasure. Especially at night, the river breeze is blowing, and it is very comfortable to ride without pursuing speed. Many people complained about this bike that the Shimano TX800 used for rear shifting is too soft, and shifting gears are prone to problems on bumpy roads. The biggest drawback is probably that I can’t ride very fast, and sometimes it’s almost impossible to speed up.
