The theme of the new logo is "Colorful", which contains the recognition of diverse values. NHK pointed out that the initial design idea was that the COVID-19 epidemic that started in the past has changed daily life, making people's lives unconsciously less colorful and scenic. They hope to make the world as colorful as possible on the last night of 2021, so they chose "Colorful" as this year's theme.
