counter the DPP? Gao Hongan asked prosecutor Cai Liqing (pictured) to be his deputy (Taiwanese media photo)
Taiwan Strait News, December 20 ( Straits Herald reporter Lin Lianjin) On December 19, Gao Hongan, the quasi-Hsinchu mayor of the Taiwan People's Party, announced the first wave of personnel in the city government. The biggest highlight was the appointment of a prosecutor as the deputy mayor, which surprised the outside world. This appointment is also likely to be interpreted in connection with Gao Hongan's investigation by Taiwan's prosecutors on the 15th for allegedly fraudulently claiming assistant fees. Is Gao Hongan declaring war on the Green Camp and the DPP authorities?
Gao Hongan's prosecutor's deputy is named Cai Liqing. He was a prosecutor of the Shilin District Prosecutor's Office and a prosecutor of the " High Prosecutor's Office " in Taipei. During her tenure as a grassroots prosecutor, she handled a gambling case involving Chen Rui, the son of artist Chen Karen, who was involved in a campus gang, and a case of cement worker Hu Qiyang breaking off his palm for insurance fraud, etc. She was also awarded the "Clear Observation" bronze sculpture trophy for her meritorious service in investigating a phone fraud group.
Yesterday, Cai Liqing revealed that she was surprised when she was consulted by Gao Hongan, but Gao said that she would rely on her talents in the rule of law and experience in the public service system, which are the areas in which she is good at, so the goal she set for herself is to "clean government, promote profits, and serve the people."
Gao Hong'an also said yesterday that the public has doubts about some of Hsinchu City's past public projects, and some people regard them as fraud (such as the Hsinchu City Baseball Stadium project that cost NT$1.2 billion), and prosecutors have the ability to "debug (remove errors)."
As a favorite of Terry Gou and Taiwan People's Party Chairman Ke Wenzhe, Gao Hongan has always been willing to hate and fight against the Democratic Progressive Party. Although she made it clear that the appointment has nothing to do with her lawsuit, it is difficult not to cause some political associations to the outside world.
Luo Zhiqiang, a former Taipei City Councilor of the Kuomintang, praised Gao Hongan for her courage and said that the people have had enough of the DPP's "arrogant bullying, abuse of power and corruption" and expect her to eliminate evil and bring order to chaos.
And Ke Wenzhe’s answer makes the “answer” readily available: Since the DPP’s moral standards are so high, we should use the same standards to examine each other.
