It is understood that the English version of "Global Artificial Intelligence Governance Annual Observation 2019" is the world's first artificial intelligence governance report written by top experts in the world in the world, and it is also the first artificial intelligence governance report initiated by Chinese think tanks. 50 experts from current research centers or important organizations in artificial intelligence governance, including Ms. Fu Ying, Director of the Center for Strategic and Security Research at Tsinghua University, Professor John Hopcroft, Turing Award winner, Mr. Irakli Beridze, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Ms. Eva Kaili, Member of the European Parliament, Professor Yang Qiang
, Chairman of AAAI2021, and Ms. Francesca Rossi, Chairman of AAAI2020, participated.Artificial intelligence is the most profound and influential technological revolution and social progress since the 20th century. While it deeply challenges the traditional production mode and the economic relationship between , it is also widely changing the daily behavior and social life of modern people. Yin Qi said in the article that as the "fire-controlling technique" in the era of artificial intelligence, AI governance needs to be widely recognized and practiced, and requires the unity of knowledge and action. At the same time, Yin Qi believes that it is a general consensus among all parties to take artificial intelligence governance as a key task. This is not only the responsibility of the government and related institutions, but also enterprises, as the main force in the research and development and application of AI technology and front-line practitioners. Therefore, Yin Qi also called on all sectors of society to face AI governance challenges with a long-term attitude and use artificial intelligence to benefit the public.
In fact, Megvii has long explored AI governance based on its own practice. For example, in 2019, Megvii took the lead in promulgating the " Artificial Intelligence Application Guidelines", which made clear regulations on the correct and orderly development of artificial intelligence from six dimensions: legitimacy, human supervision, technical reliability and security, fairness and diversity, accountability and timely correction, and data security and privacy protection. We hope to standardize and guide the correct application and healthy development of artificial intelligence technology from the perspective of artificial intelligence companies themselves. At the same time, Megvii also established an AI Ethics Committee composed of founders, core executives and external experts, hoping to practice technology for goodness and discuss common issues related to AI governance with all parties.
In January this year, Megvii Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee added a new AI Governance Research Institute, which traced back to the top ten AI governance events in the world, hoping to discuss and research with all walks of life, experts and scholars on the common issues of global artificial intelligence governance, and jointly promote the construction of a healthy AI ecosystem. Not only that, Megvii also jointly conducted research on key AI governance issues such as data security and privacy protection, and is expected to form a set of AI basic platform for the full life cycle of data protection, four links: collection, transmission, storage and use, and establish a relevant AI data security and privacy protection mechanism. At the same time, Megvii has built a new generation of artificial intelligence open innovation platform for image perception , hoping to share the research results of AI governance and practical experience in enterprise application with the industry through the platform's open cooperation.
Based on Megvii's own practical experience in AI governance, Yin Qi also summarized the experience of enterprises in effectively promoting the implementation of AI governance in the article, hoping to jointly promote the AI governance process. He pointed out that first, enterprises need to maintain rational attention to AI governance and conduct constructive discussions; second, enterprises need in-depth research on key issues; third, enterprises need fixed organizations to supervise and coordinate to ensure persistent actions.
