On November 30, TSMC Chairman Liu Deyin delivered a speech on several major issues that the outside world is currently concerned about when attending the closed-door meeting of the " 33 Meeting ". According to the information circulated, this speech mainly mentioned two major views.

First, the outside world once questioned that TSMC has transported its engineers and some equipment to the United States, as if it wants to hollow out Taiwan's TSMC companies. Liu Deyin publicly responded to this issue that Taiwan’s TSMC has more than 50,000 engineers, and only 500 engineers have been dispatched to TSMC in Arizona, USA. Comparing 500 engineers with 50,000 engineers, it can be found that TSMC will not empty all local Taiwanese companies and move them to the United States, which is only an integral part of TSMC's overseas strategy. Liu Deyin's first answer was also a rebuttal to the rampant doubts from the outside world, and also opposed the view that "TSMC will be emptied by the United States."
Second, there are also deep reasons why TSMC started moving from Taiwan to the United States under the forced order of the United States Arizona . Regarding this issue, Liu Deyin, as the chairman of TSMC, was very touched and published a macro discussion. Liu Deyin believes that as the world's geopolitical continues to turmoil in today's world, as long as Taiwan owns TSMC, can continue to develop the semiconductor industry led by TSMC, and occupy a place in the global industrial chain and can take the lead, Taiwan will always maintain considerable stability in the geopolitical turmoil, because all parties have sought for Taiwan. This is what Liu Deyin wanted to express in this speech. In plain language, it means that if you have TSMC in your hand, Taiwan can maintain stability.

TSMC Chairman Liu Deyin also revealed a lot of information.
First of all, about 500 TSMC engineers setting up factories in Arizona with corporate equipment, as Liu Deyin said, this is an important part of TSMC's overseas strategy. As a semiconductor industry that supplies the world, TSMC does need to adapt to the needs of overseas markets and appropriately distribute its own industries. TSMC's establishment of a factory in Arizona, USA can naturally be regarded as one of its overseas strategies, but it must also be seen that TSMC's establishment of a factory in Arizona, USA and sent 500 Taiwanese engineers to Arizona, which attracted great attention on and outside the island.
Some media on the island believe that this is the rhythm of the United States' need to hollow out TSMC and prepare to sell TSMC. In fact, anyone with a discerning eye can see that the so-called TSMC overseas strategic layout is just the statement that Liu Deyin himself deceived himself. The real motivation behind this is that the United States has introduced the so-called " chip bill ", attempting to win over its allies and monopolize the global semiconductor industry, and completely block China's high-tech. TSMC will naturally become the main target of the United States. Without the pressure from the United States, Liu Deyin would not have been so proactive in setting up a factory in Arizona.
If we really only look at the purely market investment point, the investment environment in mainland China is definitely better than that of the United States. After all, the Chinese government attaches great importance to it, and China's capital market is also quite favored for the semiconductor industry. The main reason is that if TSMC sets up a factory in mainland China, it can obtain labor costs far lower than that of the United States. Mainland China has the environment that is most conducive to TSMC's development, but it is not chosen by TSMC. It only shows that the purpose of the United States is to gradually emptiate TSMC from Taiwan to avoid being used by mainland China in future conflicts in the Taiwan Strait. Liu Deyin is actually very clear about this reason, but he dare not say that he is just a businessman after all.

Secondly, although Liu Deyin dares not say it, it also reveals this meaning from the side. Liu Deyin said that in today's world geopolitical turmoil, if Taiwan wants to be stable and achieve considerable development, it must have a technology industry and enterprise like TSMC that can have a significant impact on global technology. Only in this way can Taiwan have a ballast in the stormy waves.
First, Chairman Liu Deyin is indeed proud of the spring breeze and is indeed full of confidence. Although TSMC went to Arizona to set up a branch under the oppression of the United States, the US government still provided considerable financial subsidies, which also gave TSMC a green light. This made Liu Deyin, a businessman, suddenly feel that it is precisely because he owns TSMC, that the United States attaches so much importance to himself, and that he and TSMC have become a hot commodity for all forces. Therefore, when Liu Deyin gave a closed-door speech at the "Three-Three Meeting", he was able to say that "as long as there is TSMC Taiwan can maintain stability", which reflects his current arrogance.
Second, Liu Deyin said that as long as there are high-tech companies like TSMC, Taiwan can gain its own security and considerable development opportunities in geopolitical turmoil. In fact, this sentence reveals the meaning of targeting the current status of cross-strait relations. Since Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, mainland China has strengthened its combat readiness cruise in the sea and airspace of Taiwan. Cross-strait relations are quite tense. Even the “Taiwan independence elements” who want to resist stubbornly will never doubt the determination of mainland China to resolve the Taiwan issue, nor will the central government’s decision. After all, resolving the Taiwan issue is already a major policy of the central government. No matter which government, it will definitely implement it resolutely and will take back Taiwan at the right time. Pelosi's visit to Taiwan has led to continued tension in cross-strait relations. Under such circumstances, Liu Deyin's sudden speech was undoubtedly telling the current fluctuating Taiwan military and political circles to treat TSMC well and develop high-tech enterprises. The more high-tech developed, the more protective the Taiwan layer is added. After all, what mainland China wants is a golden lump rather than a rotten lump.

Third, Liu Deyin said that as long as you have high-tech enterprises like TSMC in the geopolitical turmoil, Taiwan will be stable and safe, and this statement is still targeting the current chaos on Taiwan’s island. Especially after the "nine-in-one" county and city mayor election, the DPP was defeated and the Kuomintang controlled the grassroots regime. The island began to discuss the question of "If the Kuomintang can seize the leadership of Taiwan in 2024, does it mean that the direction of cross-strait relations will change." Faced with this kind of rumor, Liu Deyin told everyone from the perspective of a businessman that instead of discussing some things here that cannot be seen in the next few years, it is better to do the industry steadily. As long as the better, bigger and stronger high-tech industry with semiconductors can be made, the better, bigger and stronger, it will have more weight when negotiating with mainland China and can also gain more benefits from the mainland. Otherwise, just whining cannon will only anger the mainland and intensify the tension in cross-strait relations. This is Liu Deyin's bitter thoughts as a businessman.
Finally, I still have to tell Chairman Liu Deyin a few words.
first, Taiwan issue China's internal affairs problems, whether it is the United States or other external forces, if they want to interfere in China's internal affairs, China will never agree. China's only principle is that the Taiwan issue cannot be touched, and China's firm attitude is to fight to the end. Therefore, Chairman Liu Deyin is asked to pay attention that it is not because of TSMC, mainland China does not dare to take action or shrink its hands. On the fundamental principles of the core interests of the Chinese nation, the central government will never take a step back.
Second, since we have realized that the central government’s major policy of unifying Taiwan is unstoppable, and since we have understood that the reason why cross-strait relations have come to this day is entirely due to the unrestrained acts of the “Taiwan independence elements” under the United States’ strategy of “using Taiwan to control China”. I still hope that Liu Deyin, the helmsman of TSMC, the "leader" of Taiwan's semiconductor industry, and an important influence in the business world of Taiwan, can go further. He not only needs to be a successful businessman, but also a big businessman that helps the rise of the Chinese nation. The so-called big business refers to transcending the personal interests of small business vendors and placing the future of their own business and their lifelong career above the overall interests of national and national development. This is the bright path that Liu Deyin should choose as the chairman of TSMC and businessmen with important influence on the island.
