The number of deaths in traffic accidents in Taipei City increased compared with the previous year. Wang Guocai, head of the transportation department of the Taiwan authorities, named Taipei Mayor Ke Wenzhe, , saying that the other party did not preside over the Daoan meeting in December last year, and also called on Ko Wenzhe to be a "Daoan excellent student." In response, the Taipei Municipal Government fought back, saying that the death rate of A1 traffic accident and A3 deaths in Taipei were the lowest in Taiwan's "Six Capitals". It criticized Wang Guocai for not discussing traffic safety based on his actual performance, "which shows that Wang Guocai's political professionalism and good intentions are good."
Taiwan's transportation department announced yesterday that 121 people died in traffic accidents from January to November last year, an increase of 28 people compared with 2020, and the increase was higher than other counties and cities.
Wang Guocai said that in December last year, local leaders of Taipei City, Hsinchu City, Chiayi County and Lianjiang County did not preside over the Daoan meeting, but Lianjiang has no deaths throughout the year, and there are reasons not to preside over the Daoan meeting. On the contrary, the number of deaths in Taipei City has increased, and Ke also broke the tradition of participating in the whole process and absent from the December meeting last year, hoping that Ke can continue to be a "Daoan excellent student."
In response to this, Taipei City Government spokesperson Chen Zhihan said that Ke Wenzhe has been in office for 7 years and has actively improved the traffic accident rate in Taipei City and is committed to creating a safe traffic environment from small places. Not only is the mortality rate of A1 (death within 24 hours after the accident) the "Six Capitals" has the lowest, with an average of only 2.54 people per 100,000 population, and the highest is 8.64 people in Tainan City; and according to statistics from Taiwan's "Police Affairs Office", the number of deaths in A1 (death within 30 days after the accident) last year was also the lowest, with Taipei City being only half of the other "Five Capitals".
Chen Zhihan emphasized that Ke Wenzhe personally hosted almost every traffic conference during his tenure, and carefully discovered and solved problems, and did not be a model student in order to be a superficial skill, because every number is related to human life.
