Lenovo Group has been written into the report by the United Nations for two consecutive years as an advanced practical case, and Chinese companies are proud of it.
Recently, the United Nations Global Compact released the report "Practice the Global Development Initiative and Accelerate the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Enterprises' "Carbon Neutrality" Target Setting, Actions and Global Cooperation" during the 5th China International Import Expo. The report contains advanced practices of 64 global companies, among which it deeply analyzes Lenovo Group's practical cases.
Last year, Lenovo Group's low-carbon practice was selected as the United Nations "Enterprise Carbon Neutralization Path Map" Global Advanced Enterprise Practice Cases in the Digital Information Industry.

"Carbon neutrality" poses new challenges to enterprises, requiring enterprises to face fierce market competition while also adapting to the trend of the times and contributing to the goal of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.
Chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo Group, said: "As the earliest enterprise in China to devote itself to ESG practice, Lenovo has always been committed to becoming a pioneer and technology empowerer in low-carbon transformation through digital and intelligent technological innovation. We hope to promote the construction of a carbon reduction ecosystem with all parties, find innovative solutions, achieve scientific, stable and fair transformation, and create a smarter, more resilient and better future together."
Today, when climate change and energy shortage bring more challenges to mankind, science and technology must shoulder this mission. Yang Yuanqing said that this mission is not only important, but also urgent. Lenovo Group announced that it has set a goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
Compared with the well-known "carbon neutrality" in China, net zero emissions not only include carbon dioxide emission reduction, but also other major greenhouse gases that cause climate change; in addition, the goal of net zero emissions is not only to achieve "neutralization" of emissions and absorption, but requires companies to commit to reducing all greenhouse gas emissions that can be reduced and then achieve neutralization through other channels. Compared with the carbon neutrality target, net zero emissions require more high demands on enterprises and a more thorough low-carbon transformation.
In fact, Lenovo Group is practicing the concept of sustainable development in all aspects including R&D, manufacturing, packaging, logistics and service. In addition to green manufacturing, green supply chain, green logistics and other means that have been used for many years, Lenovo has pioneered the "Sea God" warm water and water cooling technology in the world, saving more than 40% of energy consumption costs compared to ordinary air-cooling systems. The heat can also be recycled to heat the computer room and the community; Lenovo is increasingly using recyclable materials such as "vegan leather", recycled aluminum and closed-loop recycled plastics to design and manufacture products; the first "zero carbon factory" in the ICT industry, Lenovo (Tianjin) Smart Innovation Service Industrial Park, is officially put into production recently. The goal of net zero emissions in
is bound to allow Lenovo to continue to "downhill" in "carbon neutrality". After being praised by the United Nations many times, Yang Yuanqing has turned the road to low-carbon sustainable development into a road ahead.
