Nantou is the only inland county in Taiwan, so it is the backbone of the deployment of the Taiwan Army and has long been the basic foundation of the Kuomintang. In the 2022 "nine-in-one" election plan formulated by Tsai Ing-wen, winning Nantou is also one of the goals. With the support of this effect, the DPP won the highest vote in history, even the number of votes won in Nantou County hit a record high. There was a successful precedent.
