In order to confirm the condition of "Tuantuan" as soon as possible, the zoo medical consulting group conducted two magnetic examinations on "Tuantuan". On October 26, the second magnetic examination of Tuantuan showed that the lesion area was significantly expanded, the course of the disease progressed rapidly, and the probability of suffering from malignant brain tumors was greatly increased. Due to failure to perform invasive section examination, the cause of the disease cannot be confirmed 100%.
On November 2, Taipei City Zoo issued an announcement stating that at the invitation of Taipei City Zoo, two mainland experts went to Taiwan to participate in the treatment and nursing of giant panda "Tuantuan" from November 1 to 7. During his stay in Taiwan, the two experts discussed with the mainland expert team based on the results of the preliminary examination of "Tuantuan" and the observed physical condition and medication reactions, and put forward targeted treatment and nursing plans, and had in-depth and detailed exchanges with the Taipei expert team.
On November 18, Taipei City Zoo issued another announcement stating that the giant bear "Tuantuan" suddenly experienced four epilepsy on the evening of the 17th. The medical care team gave anti-epileptic drugs in real time to relieve its symptoms and waited all night. "Tuantuan" woke up on the morning of the 18th and tried to get up and move, but his hind limbs were obviously weak and needed further observation.

It is reported that "Tuantuan" is a male giant panda, born on September 1, 2004; "Yuanyuan" is a female giant panda, born on August 30, 2004. "Tuantuan" and "Yuanyuan" went to Taiwan in December 2008, and gave birth to their first baby " Yuanzai " on July 6, 2013, and gave birth to their second baby "Yuanbao" on June 28, 2020.
