Flaming Mountain is located in the central and northern part of the Turpan Basin, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Uyghur is called "Tuzitag", which means "Hongshan". The Fire Mountain runs east-west, starting from Liusha River in Langan County in the east and ending at Taoergou in Turpan in the west. The highest peak is near Tuyugou, Shanshan, with an altitude of 832 meters. The flaming mountains in midsummer are filled with red suns, steaming, and the flames are shrouded in mist, which is very spectacular.
According to geologists, Flaming Mountain is a short fold in the forefront of the Bogda Mountains in the eastern Tianshan Mountains, formed during the Himalayan orogenic period. The prototype of the mountain range was formed 140 million years ago and experienced a long geological period. Over the past billions of years, countless folds left by the lateral movement of the earth's crust and the wind and rain peeling of nature have formed the undulating mountains of the Flaming Mountains and the vertical and horizontal gullies.
Under the scorching sun, the red-brown sandstone of Flame Mountain flashes the hot light accumulated by sunlight radiation, and the hot air flow rolls upwards, and the energy is not easily lost; on the other hand, along the clouds and smoke, it is like a large flame burning towards the sinking airflow of the mountains. This is the origin of the heat air of the Flame Mountain array. The deeper layers of Flame Mountain exacerbate the warming effect.
Flame Mountain is deep inland, with few clouds and rain, and very dry, which makes it a real "fire continent" where the solar radiation reaches the ground. However, due to high temperatures, the ground has no water to provide crustal movement and river cutting and evaporation, forming high ground temperatures; and many ditches are left in the abdomen of Flame Mountain to transmit energy to the atmosphere.
These valleys are covered with green shade, beautiful scenery, gurgling water, and fragrant fruits, which is in sharp contrast with the bare mountains of Flaming Mountain.
Tuyugou Grand Canyon is located in the middle section of Huoyan Mountain in Shanshan County. It starts from Subash Village in the north and ends at Mazha Village in the south. It is about 12.5 kilometers long and has an area of about 12 square kilometers. The north and south ends are connected by a simple winding mountain road. The east and west peaks of Tugou Grand Canyon are known as "natural firewalls", and the maximum temperature can reach 60'℃.
The mountains on both sides of the valley are ochre-red, but they appear colorful under the sunlight, and the depth of the color varies with the weather. The soil at the bottom of Tuyugou Grand Canyon is yellow-red. The snow water of Tianshan Mountains passing through the valley washed out the yellow red soil and the ancient mouth of the southern ancient valley formed a fertile alluvial plain at the southern end of the canyon.
This soil is most suitable for cultivating seedless white grapes, so the grapes were first settled in Turougou in China. This is the hometown of Turpan's seedless white grapes and is also one of the export bases of seedless white grapes.
The seedless white grapes produced here are the largest and have the strongest sweetness, and are known as the treasure among grapes. Tuyugou's mulberries, cantaloupe and other fruits are also very famous. Tuyugou Grand Canyon condenses the essence of the Flaming Mountain landscape: the wonder of mountains, the beauty of rocks, the beauty of rivers, and the sweetness of rare fruits. It is rare in other canyons and is known as the most magnificent canyon in Flaming Mountain.
Grape Gully Valley is also one of the valleys with beautiful scenery and fragrant fruits of the Flame Mountain, located at the western end of the Flame Mountain. The grape trench is 8000 meters long and 500 meters wide, and is full of vineyards. The famous seedless white grapes, horse milk grapes, as well as excellent grape varieties such as rose red, Kashgar, Beef, Black grapes, and Lock Grapes are mainly grown here.
Spring water seeps out from the cliffs of the grape ditch and converges into a pool of clear water. Walking here makes people feel like they don’t know how to be in the scorching flame mountains.
