Ke Zhien introduced that programming education has unique importance. Students can cultivate the ability to discover and solve problems during the learning process, while enhancing creativity and logic. Ke Zhien believes that if there is support from the industry, officials and academic circles, programming will become a key ability to create Taiwan's competitiveness and nurture talents.
Ke Zhien took the Estonian "Program Tiger" plan as an example and mentioned that the country's program education has long been included in the primary and kindergarten curriculum. In contrast, Taiwan's curriculum only began to promote program education in 2019, which is not only a gap with the development of program education in advanced international countries, but also has considerable difficulties in teacher training, textbook richness, equipment and resource gap, and course connection.
Ke Zhien further proposed the four major political views on programming education. After taking office, he will set up a "Programming Education Project Office (Plan)" to efficiently structure the integration of Coding courses and resources, and to guide the school to set up experimental schools; for teachers, he will actively seek cooperation between relevant science and colleges and universities in the city and private groups, cultivate seed teachers, invest in primary school programming courses and science exhibition competitions and other activities, and cooperate with public and private forces to alleviate the pressure on teachers. In addition, the basic equipment of the rural information hardware will be complete so that children in the rural area can also receive complete programming education; take stock of the school's existing course lesson plans and set a reasonable number of hours of "programming education" courses.
Huang Bolin said that over the past four years, he attached importance to the development of programming education in Kaohsiung. He originally planned to drive 12,000 students to participate in programming courses, cooperate with the Education Bureau to open programming course clubs, cram schools and winter and summer camps in primary and secondary schools and kindergartens. So far, more than 40,000 Kaohsiung students have been invested in programming learning. Students demonstrate their learning initiative, and in the process of fulfillment and interactive sharing, they also enhance their logical ability and creativity.
