The Gresini Racing MotoGP team supported by Fujian Youli Enterprise YOU-ALL, held a practice and qualifying race on the weekend before the race (June 4). Fabio Di Giannantonio, the No. 49 car, ran a lap of 1 minute 39.099 seconds in Q2, and won the fifth place in the starting position of the main race; Enea Bastianini, the No. 23 car, ranked 14th.
MotoGP level schedule is 24 laps, with a total of about 111 kilometers.
After the red light went out and officially started, Bastanini, who started from the fifth row, ran forward with a strong start and quickly. After avoiding the accident that affected several cars in lap 1, his position rose to tenth at the end of lap 1. The subsequent continuous acceleration also allowed his position to rise, and by the end of the 5th lap, he further rose to seventh, in the middle of the second/third competitive group.
to lap 7, Bastanini, who was still working hard to accelerate, ran out of the fastest lap in the race and entered the 1 minute and 40 second level (the previous lap was the 1 minute and 41 second level). But on the subsequent lap 8, he fell down at T5 and was forced to end his fight in Catalonia early. After the
game started, Ginantorio competed with his opponents at the end of the second/third competition group for most of the game time. On lap 8, after his teammates fell off the T5, Ginantorio also had an accident at T13 in the back of the track and was forced to withdraw from the race. This is the first time since the start of the 2022 season, the Gisny MotoGP team has failed to get points in a sub-stop race - however, motorsports and even most sports are like this, and no one can get a perfect result in every game.
after the game, Bastanini said, " (The lap of accident) I didn't do anything unusual, I went into the corner the same way as the previous lap, but unfortunately the front end of the car was not kept. I thought about running a decent, not too radical race, but something like that didn't happen. At present, I haven't thought about why (this accident happened). Ironically, I ran very fast in this area of the track (Bastanini, one of the few riders who can run in the S1 area of the track, in less than 17 seconds), and we did a good job. (If it weren't for the accident) I think we could have a good result, probably sixth or seventh place."
Ginantorio said, "Unfortunately, (to lap 8) T13 There was a strong wind at the corner point. My way of going into the corner was the same as when I was in the previous laps, but the front was blocked by (other drivers) and it was impossible for me to save (fall). I had a good start and managed the rhythm and pace of the race well, but the result was a pity. (falling) This error is the last thing we need.
