After the Lantern Festival and the Chinese New Year, many youth in Xiamen began to get busy and worked hard for the goals of the new year. Last year, Li Guanwei from New Taipei opened a tea and snack shop in several shopping malls in Xiamen, focusing on Chinese dim sum. Now he plans to expand his store; Su Fengyi, a Taiwanese youth who also runs the catering industry, is also busy opening a new store, and his Taiwanese fried food restaurant will be opened at the end of the month; Li Xiangming, a Taiwanese youth, and his wife from Anhui, opened a studio in Xiamen, focusing on handicrafts. Recently, they are busy preparing to participate in the market activities at the end of the month.
grasps the trend. The new product of the Year of the Tiger is developed. The year of the Tiger is approaching, making a "tiger-like tiger" store in Xiamen, the "tiger-like tiger" store, is popular among consumers. Li Guanwei is the manager of this store. He told reporters that during the Chinese New Year, their main products, such as tiger skin mochi, taro cakes, milk pineapple milk fu, etc., have been very popular. The best-selling of
products is due to Li Guanwei's years of experience in his career. He previously worked in a Taiwanese bakery shop and was very sensitive to the trend changes in the Xiamen dessert market. "At the end of 2020, we formed a team and began to plan the Chinese dim sum market." Li Guanwei told reporters that through market research, he found that young people in Xiamen like to taste fresh food very much. In addition, the people in southern Fujian have the habit of drinking tea, so they set their attention on Chinese tea with dim sum. Li Guanwei introduced that since the second half of last year, they have opened stores in Xiamen, Quanzhou and Shishi, and have been sought after by young people during the trial operation.
The arrival of the Year of the Tiger has made their stores look a lot more beautiful. Li Guanwei told reporters that the combination of two "tigers" in the store name is very consistent with the Year of the Tiger. "'Shangcha' is pronounced as 'Yancha'. Yancha is also one of the tea drinks that Fujian people often drink. Our store also launched the Yancha series of tea drinks, which are paired with Chinese refreshments, which have a unique flavor." Li Guanwei said that they have also developed several refreshments that are suitable for the Year of the Tiger. The popularity of the
store is not just because of "taking advantage of the hot spots in the Year of the Tiger". Li Guanwei said that in the stage of promoting Chinese desserts, their stores were considered by many people to be "Internet celebrity stores" in Chinese desserts, but they are not worried that the popularity will gradually dissipate. "We will continue to develop new products based on changes in consumers' tastes and needs, and make adjustments to the differences in different regions." Li Guanwei gave an example, consumers in southern Fujian prefer taro paste desserts, but consumers in northern China prefer paste cake-type desserts. The eating habits of different consumer groups are important basis for them to develop products.
Li Guanwei, who has successfully started a business, wants to use his own experience to help more Taiwanese youth realize their entrepreneurial dreams. "There are actually many entrepreneurial opportunities in mainland China, especially when you accumulate experience and have a reliable team, and the market with a broad prospect, the opportunity to realize your dream is right in front of you." Li Guanwei said that their store business model is now very stable, and they will open up franchise and develop with more aspiring people.

Su Fengyi told reporters that he came to Xiamen in 2016. "When working in a tea shop in Taiwan, I heard that the boss was going to send employees to work in the mainland, so I actively signed up." Su Fengyi said, "I have always been full of longing for the mainland and feel that the prospects are broad. The experience of coming to Xiamen to develop has also verified my idea."
After working in the mainland for a period of time, Su Fengyi seized the opportunity to quit his job and started his own business, and started his first tea shop, which was well received by many consumers. "Later, under the influence of the epidemic, I chose to buy a store and wait for the opportunity." Su Fengyi said that after many years of starting a business in Xiamen, he has made many friends, including Taiwanese youth Lu Zhenhong, who is his partner in the second venture.
In September 2020, Su Fengyi began to plan new entrepreneurial projects. With previous experience in running tea shops, his entrepreneurial ideas this time became more mature. "I discussed with my partner and planned to open a Taiwanese fried snack bar together. The dishes mainly include Taiwanese salted chicken, crispy chicken chops, soy milk fried chicken legs, etc. These dishes are selected after market considerations." Su Fengyi said.
Su Fengyi, who is usually in love with delicious food, is very confident in his products. He hopes that the Taiwanese fried food he manages will one day be as unique as the well-known snacks in Xiamen. "Ge Lu and I have their own division of labor. He is responsible for external promotion and management. I am responsible for controlling the food and cooking, combining the skills we are good at, hoping to make Taiwanese fried food that is loved by the people of Xiamen." Su Fengyi said.
Couple joins hands to promote dolls
Cute little tiger, mighty big dinosaur, exquisite small ornaments... Li Xiangming, who had just said goodbye to the busy Spring Festival, began to create wool dolls and plant seed crafts. These exquisite works will appear in a market event at the end of the month. In 2021, the couple opened a studio in Xiamen, mainly selling handicraft products. Recently, the two have used various market activities to promote their own products.
As early as 2012, Li Xiangming logged into the business and came to Xiamen in 2014. "At the beginning, we mainly operated tourism souvenirs and sold Taiwanese food in scenic spots." Li Xiangming told reporters that he had more than ten years of experience in food sales. After coming to Xiamen, he started the second stage of his career with the help of the numerous characteristics of the Xiamen exhibition. "Xiamen often holds large-scale exhibitions. Through participation in the exhibition, we have connected with a large number of resources and customers." Li Xiangming said.
During the process of starting a business, Li Xiangming also gained love. In 2013, Li Xiangming met his wife, and the two became partners, and finally got together. In 2018, they entered the palace of marriage, and now the child is over two years old. "It is precisely because my son is growing up that he decided to settle in Xiamen." Li Xiangming said that the couple founded a studio together to create handmade jewelry.
"These wool fabrics are handmade by my wife, and the ornaments made of plant seeds are learned by me and my mother." Li Xiangming showed reporters many handmade works. In order to promote products, Li Xiangming and his wife not only participated in various market activities, but also shot many short videos. "Last year, I participated in an anchor training event held in Xiamen, and many friends in the new media industry also began to try to present our products in the form of short videos." Li Xiangming introduced that his wife made a group of wool dolls of Tang Monk and disciples. He used that group of dolls to shoot short films of Journey to the West, and after uploading them to the video platform, he was very popular, so he planned to shoot more such videos to gain popularity for his products.
In addition to the sales of finished products, Li Xiangming also wants to sell related teaching courses in the future. "Now, consumers prefer experiential consumption, so we plan to launch wool doll making courses or selling material packages. At the same time, we also plan to conduct study courses for plant seed jewelry, taking children to the park or forest, picking up some plant seeds, and teaching them to make various handicrafts. Let children know various plants while playing," said Li Xiangming.
