The researchers randomly drew a 1-meter square area in the field, picked up the rapeseed plants inside one by one, carefully picked off the seed pods on it, counted and weighed them, and then peeled out the rapeseed and weighed them. According to the calculation formula for rapeseed yield and oil output, the rapeseed yield is 419.19 kg/mu, and the oil output is converted to 211.57 kg/mu. The expert group led by Professor Li Ghana from Southwest University said that the success of "Central Oil Miscellaneous 501" marks the operation of dense and high-yield rape breeding. Finding yield by dense planting will also be an important path for the development of my country's rapeseed industry in the future, and it is expected to double the oil production per unit area.
Wang Xinfa said that the next step of "Central Oil Miscellaneous 501" will test its adaptability, and this year it plans to promote the planting of 100,000 mu. According to past experience, large-scale planting will be achieved in three to five years.
It is reported that rapeseed, as my country's largest oil crop, accounts for about 50% of the domestic edible oil market, but my country's edible vegetable oil has an external dependence of up to 70%, and the import sources are highly concentrated, so supply security is at risk. Academician Wang Hanzhong's team of the Institute of Oil Products proposed the "Double 50" project of rapeseed, and planned to achieve more than 50% oil content of rapeseed varieties by technology innovation and increase oil production by 50% by around 2030. The reason why "Central Oil Miscellaneous 501" is named so because it is the first phased achievement of the "Double 50" project. The first "top student" graduated.
