At the 2019 Taipei Aerospace and Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) held in Taiwan Province, China, this week, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSBC) presented three projects it is carrying out for the Taiwan Provincial Navy: the new amphibious dock landing ship (LPD), the new mine-burning ship and the Tuojiang 2 frigate. All three projects are under the responsibility of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and are part of the renewal of Taiwan's Navy.

00 The overall design of the new dock landing ship adopts a stealth design, generally similar to the United States' "San Antonio" class dock landing ship, using two closed integrated masts in the front and rear, which is conceptually similar to the advanced closed mast/sensor (AEM/S) of the US Navy's "San Antonio" class. According to "Jane's Defense Weekly", the total length of Taiwan's new dock landing ship is 153 meters, the total width is 23 meters, the hull draft is 6 meters, the standard displacement exceeds 10,000 tons, and the speed is 21 knots; the rear of the "Hongyun" ship has a large helicopter hangar and a deck, the helicopter deck has two helicopter take-off and landing points, and the rear is a dock for carrying personnel landing crafts, etc.

These four dock landing ships are called the "Hongyun Plan" on the island, also known as the "Hongyun" ship, and will replace the two outdated "Xinggang" class tank landing ships and the "Xuhai" class dock landing ships. China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation received a construction contract for this class of ships in April 2018, with a total of 4 ships expected to be produced, with a cost of US$207 million in the first ship. It is planned to be put into service in 2021 and will be deployed in the Penghu Islands.

"Hongyun" ship equal-scale model shows that there is an MK-75 76mm main gun on the A deck, which is a copy of the Italian Alto Melera naval gun; there is a "intensive array" near-defense gun on the B deck and the top of the helicopter hangar. The most unique feature of the ship is that there are two 4-connected inclined missile launchers in the middle of the hull. One is to launch the "Sea Sword II" (TC-2N) air defense missiles, and the other is to launch the Xiongfeng II and III anti-ship missiles, which will be the only one among the world's amphibious dock landing ships. In addition, China Shipbuilding Group also designed a foreign trade model based on the ship, which is sold abroad.

00 Taiwan Provincial Navy began to develop a high-speed minecraft called the "Minjiang" class in 2014. The ship's design focus is to reduce operators, increase payload and speed, and be able to reach the mission area in a short period of time. The Minjiang class ship is 41 meters long, 8.8 meters wide, with a displacement of 347 tons, a speed of 14 knots, and a range of 1,200 nautical miles. The ship is equipped with an automatic mine laying system to improve operating efficiency. The head of the ship is a T-75 20mm machine gun and a T-74 12.7mm machine gun at the tail. The Taiwan Navy ordered four Minjiang-class minecraft boats at Longhe Shipbuilding Company, which is under construction, and the first one is scheduled to enter service in 2021.

According to Taiwanese media, "the latest technology to improve its platform and combat system." On December 4, 2018, Taiwanese media confirmed that Longde Shipbuilding Company won the bid for 11 "Tuojiang" class improved light frigates, namely "Tuojiang" Type II.

"Tuojiang" II has a hull length of 65 meters, a ship width of 14.8 meters, a displacement of 680 tons (560 tons of ship I), a maximum light load speed of 45 knots, a full load speed of 30 knots, and a range of 1,800 nautical miles. The central missile launch platform is equipped with two 4-mounted "Xiongfeng" II subsonic anti-ship missiles and two 4-mounted "Xiongfeng" three-type supersonic anti-ship missiles. It is said that anti-ship missiles can also be replaced with HC-2 "Seaship" 2 ship-to-air missiles. The ship has a MK-75 76mm main gun, a "intensive array" close-defense gun at the top of the hangar, and a medium-sized helicopter can operate on the helicopter deck at the tail.

On May 24, 2019, the first "Tuojiang" Type II keel was held at Longde Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with the first three planned to be built, and the first one will be added to the active service in 2025.
