Vietnam's cashew processing and export volume continues to rank first in the world for 14 years. In 2019, the number of cashews processed reached 1.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 25%. The export volume of nuts exceeded 450,000 tons, up 55,000 tons in 2018, an increase of 14%. Pingfu Province is a major cashew nut cultivation province in Vietnam. Half of Vietnam's cashew nuts come from here, with a cashew nut area of about 200,000 hectares, accounting for 45% of Vietnam's national planting area.
1. Introduction to Ping Fu Province:
Ping Fu Province (Tỉnh Bình Phước) is located in the southeast of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, to the north, adjacent to Cambodia , the east is bordered by Lintong Province and Tongnai Province, Tongnai Province in the west, xining Province and Cambodia in the south, Pingyang Province in the south, and toule Province and Cambodia in the north. The provincial capital Tongshuai City is located in the southeast of the district, with an area of about 6,856 square kilometers and a population of about 1.13 million. The races living in the province include Yue ethnic group , Nong ethnic group, Qi ethnic group, and Khmer ethnic group .
2. Cashew City:
At present, there are 71,612 cashew nut growers in Pingfu Province, and the cashew nut planting area is 174,018 hectares, accounting for 30% of the province's agricultural land area. Currently, the four cashew nut cultivation areas in the province are distributed in Budang, Fuying, Buyamo County and Tongfu County. The harvest area of cashew nuts in the province reaches 135,275 hectares, with an average annual output of 200,000 tons.
At present, there are about 1,400 cashew nut processing plants and workshops in Pingfu Province, including 170 deep processing plants.
3. Pingfu Province Economic Development
Due to its superior geographical location, as of early October 2019, the province had a total of 224 foreign direct investment projects, with funds in place exceeding US$2.2 billion. Wu Dengke, director of the Pingfu Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, pointed out that Pingfu Province focuses on attracting auxiliary industry and deep processing industrial projects, especially investment in cashew processing and high-tech agriculture.
In addition, Pingfu Province welcomes investment in trade services, tourism and cities. Wu Dengke believes that Pingfu Province’s administrative reform has achieved good results and created an open investment environment for enterprises. At present, the time for administrative procedures has been significantly reduced, and investment licenses can be issued to qualified enterprises within 24 hours.
4. The revolutionary historical holy land
In addition to natural landscapes, Pingfu Province is also a revolutionary historical holy land. Visitors can go to the Bang Lang Cemetery to burn incense to the "Anti-American Martyrs", or go to the Ta Thiet revolutionary base , the Loc Ninh revolutionary history memorial, the cemetery of the Three Thousand Heroes, the Pinglong Victory Monument and other places to learn more about the revolutionary battle history in Pingfu Province.
