Recently, the Yangtze River Delta Ecological Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone Developer Alliance held a meeting of all members. The meeting awarded the 2022 Developer Alliance Special Contribution Award to commend alliance member units that actively participate in various development and construction work in the demonstration zone and have outstanding achievements. Five units including Tongji University won the award.
In August 2020, under the guidance of the Executive Committee of the Yangtze River Delta Ecological Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone, the Demonstration Zone Developer Alliance was officially established in Shanghai. In October of that year, Tongji University joined the Developer Alliance as the first batch of new members. Since then, Tongji University has actively made suggestions for the demonstration zone and initiated the establishment of the Yangtze River Delta Sustainable Development Research Institute, continuously introducing high-quality resources for the development of the demonstration zone and helping the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta integrated. In February this year, Tongji University served as the leading unit of the Developer Alliance universities and professional institutions.

· Continue to promote the key work of the Yangtze River Delta University Alliance for Sustainable Development
In April 2021, Tongji University initiated the establishment of the "Eight East China Schools" and "Eight Schools in East China" jointly initiated the establishment of the "Yangtze River Delta University Alliance for Sustainable Development". In the first half of this year, an information database of scientific and technological experts in the field of sustainable development has been solicited from eight schools in East China, and currently more than 400 experts are in the database.
· Complete the implementation plan for carbon peak in the demonstration zone and the special plan for near-zero carbon in the water town living room
Research Institute has formed a research team covering more than ten disciplines of the school to take the lead in the research on carbon peak and carbon neutrality strategy of demonstration zone. The completed "Implementation Plan for Carbon Peak in the Demonstration Zone" was adopted not long ago at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Demonstration Zone Council. The team took the lead in the compilation of the "Special Plan for Near-Zero Carbon in Water Town Living Room" and completed the public solicitation of opinions recently.
· Building the first phase of the infrastructure and carbon neutrality technology demonstration base of the Yangtze River Delta Sustainable Development Research Institute
Research Institute is located at No. 708, Jinshang Highway, Qingpu District, Shanghai. It was fully completed in October 2021, and will integrate carbon neutrality technologies such as solar photovoltaics, photovoltaics, direct and flexible photovoltaics, environmental resource utilization, environmental protection materials, community energy consumption simulation, digital twins, etc. In March this year, the institute launched the second phase of nearly zero carbon construction, and will build an academic exchange center in the fields of atmosphere, soil, water, solid waste, clean production energy, etc., and explore the construction of a digital base platform for space-time information.
