So, what are the areas for pilots to re-adapt to T2 for transitioning to T2? The editor interviewed Lu Kai, deputy manager of the Boeing 777 fleet of China Southern Airlines Guangzhou Flight Department.
Lu Kai introduced that compared with T1, the taxiing route in the area where T2 is located is complex, and the use of downtime positions is limited. In addition, the nodes involved in the reform of the apron control and handover of the hub airport, there are more points to pay attention to for pilots.
First of all, T2 is on the north side of T1, and the stoppage is further away from the China Southern Airlines Complex, which means that the crew will have to spend more time on the road before boarding the plane. The Guangzhou Flight Department arranged for crew cars to enter T2 at different times for route rehearsal. The final response was that the crew registration time was 10 minutes ahead of schedule. In addition, the specific time for the crew to leave the comprehensive building is also clarified based on the differences in the crew's international (regional) or domestic flights.
Secondly, due to the overlap of safety areas between the stopping positions, the adjacent stopping positions in T2 cannot guarantee two aircraft at the same time. Therefore, when taxiing, pilots need to pay special attention. If the safe distance from other aircraft or ground equipment cannot be ensured, taxiing must be stopped in time and ground guidance must be requested.
Again, when T1 is running, China Southern Airlines aircraft can slide into and out of the stop position by itself, without the need for a ground guide vehicle. After the transition to T2, in order to ensure the safety of the aircraft taxiing on the apron, Baiyun Airport will provide ground guided vehicle services to China Southern Airlines units.
In addition, starting last year, the civil aviation management department has promoted the pilot program of transferring apron control at some domestic hub airports. In other words, when the aircraft taxies in the apron area, the airport apron control shall provide control services. When the aircraft operates in an activity area outside the apron, the civil aviation management unit shall be responsible for the command. For pilots, this is also a new risk point and needs to be paid attention to.
