Qi Qin: Yes! Any musical instrument is a skilled job. Just like driving, just touch it more often and treat it as a habit of daily life.
Reporter: We know that you were once crazy about rock music, especially with more preference for guitar. So what made you choose to pick up the guitar and become a singer-songwriter?
Qi Qin: This question sounds quite profound, but personally, I think guitar is more convenient and easy to carry. I am also a person who loves to wander around and like to go around and take a look to get more inspiration. So it is very convenient to travel while holding a guitar, and people will also feel cool when they see singers playing the piano! To put it further, I think the range and tone played by the guitar are very consistent with my temperament. Using the guitar to write songs and express myself, this form can better reflect the loneliness, romance and sadness that belongs to me. These can be perfectly expressed through the guitar. Many works that you are familiar with are from this.
Reporter: I heard that you have recently won the Guitar Culture Special Contribution Award from the Guitar Society of the Chinese Musicians Association. Congratulations! Let’s talk about your experience in winning the award!
Qi Qin: Of course I am very honored to present me with the award, but to be honest, I am more surprised by the honor I have given me. I didn't expect that this professional field would value me so much and value some of the things I have done for music. I would like to thank the Guitar Society of the Chinese Musicians Association, Mr. Liao Shiwei, and even more so to thank all the friends who like my music.
Reporter: This time, the Guitar Society of the Chinese Musicians Association issued a certificate to Qi Qin. What is the purpose and significance? In what aspects of cooperation will we expand with Qi Qin in the future?
Liao Shiwei: Because Qi Qin is a well-known figure in the pop music circle and is the first group of promotional and communicators that influenced my country's music market, from the 1970s and 1980s to today, almost all those who love playing the piano can play a few Qi Qin's songs for singing and performing. For us (Guitar Society), this has also made great contributions to the dissemination and promotion of guitar culture! Qi Qin combines idol temperament and a certain ideological music creation talent. Many people who first came into contact with rock also heard the distorted guitar tone from his music, which gave him a sense of freedom. Therefore, this time, the award of such an award to Qi Qin is also a true name!
As for future cooperation, I think in the future, in addition to cooperating with some concerts, I may also cooperate with some works. The guy also intends to help the new generation of musicians and singers complete some original works together.
Reporter: I heard that a guitar factory made a custom guitar for the young man as a gift. What is the origin of this?
Liao Shiwei: Yes, this is actually quite coincidental. I commissioned Yater guitar to customize it for the guy. At first, the guy joked with his friends that he wanted to customize a nine-string guitar, so I considered whether I could get a customized piano for him on his birthday. Later, I found Mr. Zhao, who was from Yater guitar, to discuss this matter. As a result, there was indeed no case of making a nine-string guitar, so I decided to make an eight-string guitar as a birthday gift to my younger brother.

Qi Qin: It is like a treasure, it can enrich my creative source again. Thank you, hahaha.

Qi Qin: For singers who like guitar, if you want to play guitar well, you have to practice more. This requires time accumulation and precipitation. Don’t be eager for quick success or instant benefits, hasteness will not be achieved.

Qi Qin was a singer who debuted in the 1980s and 1990s. His handsome appearance and wild and elegant temperament made him quickly become an idol sought after by many fans.
