The outbreak of cyanobacteria caused by the eutrophication of water body has always been its stubborn disease and difficulty in managing.
Fang Biao introduced that by comprehensively applying science and technology, ecology, engineering and other measures to prevent and control cyanobacteria, 5 algae water separation stations, 3 cyanobacteria deep well treatment devices, 4 cyanobacteria magnetic catchers, and more than 300 algae control facilities such as flow pushers. "Through governance, the overall outbreak of cyanobacteria in 2021 was delayed by 56 days, and there were almost no outbreaks in 2022."

Li Jiazheng introduced that fishing grounds with a history of more than 30 years of breeding have high nitrogen and phosphorus content in the bottom mud of fish ponds, which can easily cause secondary pollution of water. By building ridges and building islands, laying anti-seepage membranes, silt is piled up on the lower part of the island, and shrubs and are planted on the island to form an "ecological percolation island". The plant roots absorb nitrogen and phosphorus in the bottom mud, and also provide habitat for various organisms.

At the end of July this year, with the completion of the third phase of the Shibalianwei Wetland project, the top ten wetlands around Chaohu were fully built. As of June 2022, a total of 966 national first- and second-level protected birds were observed in the wetlands and 80 first-level protected birds, accounting for about half of the top ten wetlands around Chaohu Lake.
Zhu Qing, director of Chaohu Research Institute, introduced that in 2011, after some administrative divisions in Anhui Province were adjusted, Chaohu became the Neihu of Hefei City, and started a journey of comprehensive governance. Now, the 176-kilometer coastline is becoming a "check-in place" for the people. "In the future, we must actively realize the three transformations of . According to statistics, the average water quality of Chaohu Lake changed from Class V to Class IV in 2015, and improved to Class III in 2020, setting the best level since the monitoring records were found in 1979. (End)
