"'Taiwan independence' means war." Colonel Wu Qian's blunt warning triggered a strong shock to public opinion on the island. Recently, the Taiwan legislative body, which has an absolute advantage in the DPP, launched the so-called "constitutional amendment" project, but the DPP authorities set the tone and will not take the extreme line. The three proposals involving "legal Taiwan independence" proposed by the DPP's public opinion representatives have also been shelved or voluntarily withdrawn.
While the DPP authorities shelved and withdrew the proposal for "legal Taiwan independence", Zhang Yazhong, principal of Taiwan Sun Yat-sen School, also sounded the alarm for the Kuomintang. According to China Taiwan Network html on February 19, the Kuomintang recently hired Zhang Yazhong as the "Central Review Committee Member", and Zhang Yazhong also announced his participation in the Kuomintang chairman election held in July. This is the second time that Zhang Yazhong has announced his candidacy since the Kuomintang chairman by-election at the beginning of last year. Zhang Yazhong admitted that the "bigest problem of the Kuomintang today is its vague concepts." Should it move towards cross-strait peace or war? If it is peace, what method should the Kuomintang use to tell the people that they can follow, and it must give them ideas and route choices. This is the most important principle for the Kuomintang to face 2024.
