Preface
As a graphics card and other party, I regularly sit and watch a certain bar friend from "screaming down the mountain" to "flying people in the air", which has become a source of happiness for the past two months. Even if I save enough money for the remaining instant noodles for two years, I still have enough time-limited free masterpieces from Steam and Epic for two years. Even if the mid-to-high-end graphics cards are priced at one per day, the trust panic caused by the confusing operation of the "mining card wave" is not something that poor people from other families can easily take action. But there are friends who can't resist the loneliness of "not being able to afford to play games without a graphics card". So, a RX6500XT graphics card may satisfy you.

is one of the few graphics cards that do not exist at this stage. With its excellent energy efficiency ratio and price range of RDNA2, RX6500XT has gained many fans who are considering using it as a transitional graphics card. Recently, the editor received the RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G graphics card from Gigabyte. Can the actual performance meet your expectations? The following is the evaluation stage:
Appearance and disassembly: The piled-up monster inside and outside

Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G radiator consists of a silver-gray shell and 3 80mm blade-type fans. Each fan uses 11 blades with diversion grooves and triangular three-dimensional shapes, which is said to increase the air intake unit time and speed.

The fans and intermediate fans on the left and right sides are opposite to each other, and the purpose is to accelerate the heat discharge from the upper and lower sides by guiding the airflow. In addition, the mainstream low-load automatic stop technology and quieter nanographene lubricant are not absent from this fan.

Although the PCB area of Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G is relatively compact, in order to match the larger radiator volume, its backplane area extends to the other end of the radiator. Of course, the advantage of doing this is to optimize the heat dissipation on the back of the graphics card, and at the same time ensure that the graphics card does not deform when installing it.

is a large-area hollow design here, which can increase wind power circulation and allows you to explore the configuration scale of the heat dissipation copper tube. Gigabyte's muscles are shown!

Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G is equipped with a 6pin external power supply interface. It can easily drive 107W of the entire card power consumption with a rated power of 400W. In terms of

interface, although Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G is only equipped with 1 DisplayPort1.4a + 1 HDMI2.1, it is enough to meet the needs of target users to output monitors. Next, the disassembly begins.

What caught my eye after disassembling the radiator was a huge heat-sinking aluminum block, with 2 straight-touch heat-sinking copper tubes welded in the middle. Each copper tube has a cross-section of about 8mm wide, and next to it are two heat-sinking gaskets, which can quickly export the heat from the GPU chip and the two video memory chips next to it. On the left side of

PCB is an area where the heat generation is no less than that of the GPU core. In the corresponding position of the heat sink, heat dissipation gaskets for the power supply modules, capacitors and other components of the graphics card are arranged. One of the copper tubes passes through the scales to quickly spread the heat from the GPU core. The other side of the radiator is also filled with heat dissipation scales, and two copper tubes at the bottom penetrate through one after another, playing an efficient thermal conductivity.

turns your attention to the naked card part. You can see that the PCB board model and layout of Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G are almost the same as that of the public version RX6500XT, and are both short card designs. The circuit design is shown in the figure, both regular and highly integrated.

is the RDNA2 architecture 6nm GPU core, next to it, two 2GB/32bit video memory are formed in parallel to form a 4GB/64bit specification. The model is Samsung K4ZAF325BM-HC18. Since it is GDDR6 video memory, it can still make up for the shortcomings of physical bandwidth to a certain extent. The peripheral power supply module of

GPU uses a combination of ON Semi NCP302045 and R15 closed inductors and solid-state capacitors, and the materials are very solid. The PWM master control chip with

GPU core is ON Semi NCP81022N. The PWM master chip model of

video memory chip is also ON Semi NCP81022H. (Picture lower left)
graphics card parameters and software test:
Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G detailed parameters are shown in GPU-Z (picture below): Using the GPU core codename Navi24, the chip area is compressed to only 107mm² with the support of the 6nm process technology. The card's core frequency, video memory frequency and Boost frequency reached 2685/2250/2825MHz respectively, and the core frequency and Boost frequency were slightly improved based on the public version. In addition, the 4GB GDDR664bit video memory bursts out with 143.9GB/s bandwidth. (4GB of video memory also limits mining performance)

If the vertical synchronization option is turned on, it can basically be easily and stably stable by 60 frames. The frame rate performance of competitive games is satisfactory, and it will also have a good gaming experience when connected to the high refresh rate e-sports monitor.

FurMark test

HWiNFO64 monitoring data
In the stress test project of FurMark single baked GPU, the GPU temperature of Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G in full load state is only 54℃, and the three-fan cooling effect is good. Although the default GPUCPD power consumption is limited to 90W, the excellent material use and heat dissipation ability give the graphics card a certain potential for overclocking. For friends who have certain hands-on ability and want to test, they can unlock the GPU power consumption to about 105W through GPU-Z and MPT software to obtain higher performance release.
Summary: The entry-level gaming tool
Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G graphics card is the style of a first-tier manufacturer in terms of workmanship and materials. The cooling design meets Gigabyte's usual unscrupulousness, ensuring long-term stable and reliable operation. Although the standard 4GB GDDR664bit video memory specifications have been reduced compared to the Big Brother RX6600 series, it is certain that it has basically eliminated the possibility of becoming a mining card.

Through all the actual test data, our conclusion on Gigabyte RX6500XTGAMINGOC4G is: This is a game enthusiast who does not have a large budget for the entire machine, does not pursue the ultimate picture quality, and is eager to experience the current 3A works. Before you save enough money to upgrade the mid-to-high-end configuration, you can use the entry-level gaming graphics card for 1 to 2 years.
