is located in the former Hebei Fifth Machinery Factory in Yuzhuang Village, Shexian County, Hebei Province. It is an arsenal that produces artillery shells. It moved to Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province in 1996 and later affiliated to China Ordnance Industry Corporation .
This factory was built in May 1970. The military industry code is "State-owned Factory 5434". The employees in the factory called it "Five Machine Factory" or "Five Factory".
The factory is built on the mountain, about 5 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide. It is a large-scale second-class enterprise in the country. This place is highly confidential and the guards are tightly guarded.
Shexian is located at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, southwestern Hebei Province, and at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan Province. Shexian is the only mountainous county in Handan City, and the remnants of Taihang lie in the entire territory.
Shexian is a red land. During the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation, the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping fought and lived here for 6 years. There is the former site of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, the national key cultural relics protection unit.
5434 Factory covers an area of more than 1,500 acres, and has all kinds of production and living facilities such as factories, office buildings, residential buildings, schools, hospitals, basketball courts, etc. The shells produced by the factory have been called for a self-defense fight against Vietnam.
In the 1980s, the 5434 factory turned military to civilians, and in 1992, it produced agricultural tricycles and other products.
Due to outdated concepts and poor management, all the civil service projects developed are in a loss state. A large number of employees are laid off and unemployed, and are on the verge of bankruptcy.
After 10 years of preparation, the factory moved to Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province in 1996. At that time, there were only a few thousand employees' families.
In March 2002, Factory 5434 went bankrupt and reorganized, and Hebei Lingyun Mechanical and Electrical Co., Ltd. was established. Now, the company has become a local "star enterprise". After the factory was moved away, the local government mobilized some people in the deep mountains to move to the old factory. The government invested in the maintenance and renovation of employee dormitories and used factory buildings, and planned production land for them.
