High-risk and medium-risk arrivals in Hong Kong originally had to force quarantine on the 21st . The Hong Kong SAR government allows arrivals to reduce the mandatory quarantine period of 7 days as long as they complete the new crown vaccination, that is, only mandatory quarantine is required for 14 days.
High-risk areas include Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, Ecuador, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. Egypt will also be included in high-risk areas starting from April 20.
If a person arriving in Hong Kong from low-risk areas such as Singapore, Australia and New Zealand has received the vaccine, the mandatory quarantine period will be reduced from the 14th to the 7th, and then self-checking will be conducted on the 9th and 12th day of arrival in Hong Kong.
However, people coming to Hong Kong from very high-risk areas, including the Philippines, Indonesia, etc., need to maintain a mandatory quarantine period of 21 days.
Starting from April 14, the Hong Kong SAR government will tighten the standards for banning aircraft landing in Hong Kong. When 3 or more passengers arriving in the same civil aviation plane arriving in Hong Kong are diagnosed after arriving in Hong Kong, or 2 or more passengers arriving in the same airline from the same place are diagnosed after arriving in the same place within 7 days, civil aviation planes arriving in the same airline from the same place are diagnosed after arriving in the same airline will be prohibited from landing in Hong Kong for 14 days.
At the same time, the Hong Kong SAR government has also added a new standard for parallel flight circuit breaker mechanism: If within 7 days, any civil aviation passenger plane arriving from the same country has 5 or more passengers diagnosed after arriving in Hong Kong and is infected with the N501Y variant virus strain, the Hong Kong SAR government will prohibit all civil aviation passenger planes coming from the country from landing in Hong Kong for 14 days.
