After the three-month closure of Shanghai at the beginning of this year, she and her husband and parents decided that the family of four would move back to the countryside of Chongming Island for a long time.
Her lifestyle has also been completely changed -

This house is located in the eastern part of Chongming Island, located in Shuxin Town. It is the place where I was born since I was a child. The ancestral home at home can be said to be a "gift" from my grandparents and parents.
When I got married, my parents renovated it. Three years ago, my husband and I thought about the future when we get older, we want to live in a quieter place in the countryside, so I renovated this house. But coincidentally, the epidemic has made us take this plan ahead of time.

I am building this house "on the watermelon skin" and thinking how difficult it is to build a house in the countryside? I just drew on the draft and started, and I changed it wherever I went. The first reaction of the on-site construction master was that the house was very strange and it was quite difficult for them. Why are there so many geometric shapes? Why waste such a high empty space? Why did several doors "hang" there be built?
Because I can neither make it high in violation of regulations nor make it incompatible with the surrounding environment, I can only change its internal structure and space to make myself live more comfortable.

I opened some door window , and I will see a lot of triangle structures. Through these lines, change your visual illusion and bring more interesting visual changes.
The parents are old and have bad legs. During the epidemic, they also moved from the city to live together in the countryside. Two buildings are one high and one low. In the middle, I made a corridor similar to a sun room with a slope to connect them together.
One building lives with my parents, and my studio is upstairs, but it can only be reached through the corridor of the next building, allowing me to have a relatively undisturbed private environment in the "work and living" space, and the two houses maintain a close and independent distance.
Our houses usually face south, and my house faces east because there is a small wood of my grandfather on the east. The meaning of my living in the countryside is to have more contact with nature. The first thing I do when I wake up every morning is that I can see a large area of green when I open the window.

My friends all say that the decoration style of this home is very "me" at first glance. Sixty or seventy percent of the furniture and some works in the home, including the installations on the wall, are my works.
I studied science in college. When I accompanied my husband to interview more than ten years ago, I entered the art industry by chance. Unexpectedly, I was very devoted to creation. In the 365 days of the first year, overtime hours may exceed 180 days, which is very hard, but I enjoyed it and found the direction I am willing to pursue in my life.
I use traditional Chinese handicrafts including lacquer , snuff bottle inner painting, white porcelain, Suzhou embroidery , etc., as my way of expression and medium to express some problems I see in my eyes.

Sculpture work "Fangda"
From the entrance is a glass roof and semi-outdoor "gray space". There are two relatively large porcelain works, one is called Lei Bi and the other is called Fangda, and my "Fake" series of works belonging to me. When I go on a business trip, I often buy some drinks in the supermarket, but I will win the prize if I accidentally buy it. For example, when I buy it, I look at the fake and shoddy ice black tea with the words "Handsome Master".

On the right side of the door is a small living room, and there is a wooden sculpture next to the wall. It is the "Mimei Sheep" series. When I was in kindergarten, the teacher asked you what you wanted to do when you were a child? The children must have chosen their favorite profession, saying that I want to be a courier, I want to be a firefighter, etc. The current environment puts pressure on everyone, and everyone’s goal is to make more money. I want everyone to ask themselves what you want to do? The reason why we use "sheep" is because we will count sheep when we can't sleep, and we only have dreams when we are asleep. Now there is still a chance, let’s find your dream again.
The table in the restaurant is tied, called "Let Me Relax". Chinese people pay great attention to sitting posture, but a table and chair are always tight. I think it is very tired, so I want to use anthropomorphic techniques to stretch and relax.

The creation process of "The Past"
There is a golden sculpture on the stairs, which is a ceramic work called "The Past". I started to create with my masters in Jingdezhen since 2003. It has been 19 years this year. I have seen great changes in Jingdezhen and observed that a lot of waste wood is often piled on the roadside. I felt that a tree was once alive in its prime, but suddenly my life stopped, so I found a piece of wood on the roadside of Jingdezhen and replicated its shape with porcelain, like a monument of it.
Go up the stairs, pass through the corridor, and arrive in the studio, you can see a "Fake Chair", a series I started to create in 2005 and 2006. At that time, many girls in China began to have a concept of luxury goods and saved up half a year to buy a bag.
At that time, I was almost twenty-five or six years old. I experienced the mental journey of not understanding famous brands but also began to like famous brands. But gradually realize that the real luxury goods are our silk, tea, and our culture, rather than building consumption attitudes on being brainwashed by others. Confidence comes from one's own. So I think many of our consumption concepts at that time were not particularly accurate.
This work is not only fake, but also fake, but also fake chairs from the Ming and Qing dynasties and fake Louis XVIV.
Two purple-red chairs are antique sofas from the 1970s and 1980s, and in the middle is a coffee table made of Dehua white porcelain .
On the wall, it is my "Gentle Packaging Me" series of works, a express packaging box imitated by Suzhou embroidery. Because now everyone is inseparable from express delivery. When you receive the express delivery, you definitely hope that it will be packaged intact, but when you disassemble the express delivery, its fate will become quite tragic.
So what I am discussing is an attitude issue. For example, if we need the city to be very clean, do we have some basic respect for cleaners or aunts? It is not enough to say "Hello, thank you" in a mechanized manner, but to really realize that we should thank them and treat them equally.
When this work was first exhibited in 2010, it was deliberately placed at the entrance of the exhibition. The audience's reaction was very direct, and they even kicked away as soon as they came in, but after being stopped by the staff and explained that this was a work, their attitude changed by 180 degrees, so it intuitively reflected some of the issues I wanted to say.

The memory of this old house has also been preserved by me. The camphor wood box in front of the sofa is my mother's dowry. On the lintel is the decoration next to a dressing table left by my grandfather's mother. The dressing table is gone, leaving only this piece of thing. I think it is very suitable for both size and style on the door frame. The dressing box on the desk is also hers, and now it has become my toolbox.
My husband and I are junior high school classmates, both of us are from Chongming Island. I left this village after the fourth grade of elementary school. After finishing the college entrance examination in 1998, I basically stopped going back to Chongming. When I was renovating the house, I didn’t expect that I would spend so long living here. I was originally just for a few days on holidays.
Coincidentally, it was not until the epidemic in Shanghai this March that our family stayed in this house for 3 months, which made me realize how lucky it is to have such a living space in the countryside.
First of all, it completely changed my lifestyle and greatly reduced my need for material things. Previously, due to work reasons, there were inevitably some social occasions, and some outfits for specific occasions were required to dress appropriately. But I am a person who doesn’t like socializing, so I live in the countryside. The ugly slings I used to think have become my favorite pair of shoes. I usually wear home clothes and I am the most beautiful boy in the village.
Life is very healthy now and the food is also very seasonal. Walking around the village, you see what they are planting, what to harvest in this season, who sells the best tomatoes and who has the best eggs, are well-known.
Eat early in the countryside. After eating at around five o'clock every day, I walk the dog around, ride a bicycle for about an hour, and then go to the town to do nucleic acid.
html After the age of 135, my sleep quality will gradually decrease. I used to live in the city, and it was easy for my neighbors to wake up when they come back in the middle of the night or quarrel. But living in the countryside is quiet and has high oxygen content, and my husband and I can sleep well. The whole life is simple, but it is healthy.
The best thing is to regain the feeling of childhood.
During the process of growing up, I didn’t have much time overlapping with many neighbors in the village, and I became less familiar with each other, but those are the people who grew up watching me grow up. After three months of staying at home, it feels like everyone has reviewed their previous relationship.First of all, the neighbors were very harmonious. At that time, Chongming really had nothing. Later, there were group buying or express delivery in the city, so they could only rely on neighbors when they lived in the countryside. My childhood friend, my father's childhood friend, knowing that our family has no land and no vegetables, will try every means to help us deliver vegetables.
Now my young men and I live in places more than ten minutes apart by riding bicycles. We often visit each other, eat and chat, and we have more opportunities to reunite. When watching dogs or children playing in the yard, everyone will feel like they are falling leaves return to their roots.
