A fire, ignites dreams —Professor Guo Li, Party Secretary of Peking University Law School, delivered a speech
Professor Guo Li said that Peking University Law School and Zhongda Law Firm came together because of like-mindedness and have worked together for many years to promote China's globalization and the cultivation of legal talents. From the 21 Peking University students in the "Cross-Border Legal Lawyer Practical Course" in 2018 to 113 students from 25 universities across the country in 2021, the "Peking University-Zhongda China Globalization and Rule of Law Talent Training Program" has undergone four years of continuous polishing. I hope that the program can form an echelon for cultivating foreign-related rule of law talents, and play a role in the process of rule of law globalization, adding light and giving more strength to China. Going around and returning home - Face-to-face roundtable exchange meeting
At the roundtable exchange meeting, several Zhongda partners and lawyers shared many insights and experiences of working in Zhongda and engaging in cross-border business. The students also had in-depth exchanges with the lawyers present on their legal studies, career development planning , and related development prospects.
In this semester's "Cross-Border Legal Lawyer Practical Course", according to the training plan and course schedule, many courses start at 8 am and run throughout the day. The mid-term and final exams are conducted using a 7-hour continuous Take-Home Exam assessment method. The intense courses and tests make the students dare not relax at all. But such hard work is undoubtedly worth it. Through a semester of course, the students experienced the real work and business areas of cross-border lawyers in advance, and were able to quickly master more professional foreign-related legal practice skills to welcome their future careers.
After the successful conclusion of the first issue of "Peking University-Zhongda China Globalization and Rule of Law Talent Training Plan", we need to care more about the future development of the plan. During the exchange and discussion, the students made suggestions on the course setting and planning content and put forward many positive opinions. For example, add intellectual property rights, international arbitration , company law and other fields; appropriately add discussion classes or display classes, select students who are willing to express their opinions or share their learning results, and focus on the topics related to the teaching, assist students to discuss or display related topics based on their interests and professional foundations, so that students can show their "learning has gained something".
The students also have some confusion about the planning and development of their careers. Zhongda's lawyers talked about their journey and experience in different fields of practice, and imagined the opportunities and challenges they may face in the future as legal professionals. The warm and in-depth exchanges in the atmosphere have greatly broadened the students' horizons for career choices. The students may still be a little confused when facing career choices, but the sharing of the lawyers and seniors has cleared the fog for everyone to a certain extent.
