Apple announced in a press release on Thursday that the latest update to its iPhone operating system iOS 16.1 will be launched on Monday.
It will be launched for iPhone users using iPhone 8 or newer models, and adds many features that were not available when iOS 16 was launched in September.

Access Apple Fitness+
iPhone users using iOS 16.1 can subscribe and access Apple Fitness+ even if they do not have an Apple Watch.
Fitness+ is a subscription service that includes guided exercises and meditations, which costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Purchase a new iPhone, iPad or Apple TV and Apple will offer Fitness+ for free.
If you use Fitness+ for your workout without an Apple Watch, you won't be able to view metrics like calories burned or live heart rate .
Clean Energy iPhone Charging
iOS 16.1 Update will also include Clean Energy Charging. Apple said this will allow users to optimize charging when cleaner energy is available, helping to reduce the iPhone's carbon footprint.
Clean Energy Charging is an option you can choose in "Settings", "Battery", "Battery Health and Charging". Under the Clean Energy Charging option, Apple says, “In your region, iPhone will try to reduce your carbon footprint by selectively charging when low-carbon emissions are available. iPhones will learn from your daily charging program to reach full charge before you need it.”
iCloud Shared Photo Library
IOS 16.1 will allow you to create an iCloud shared photo library instead of a standard shared iCloud album.
This will allow you to invite up to five other people, or a total of six people to a library where you can add, delete, edit or collect photos and videos.
Camera application will provide a new switch that allows users to choose to automatically send photos to shared libraries. After updating to iOS 16.1, your lock screen will display real-time activities, which display information from sports games, Uber and other carpooling apps or updates for food delivery orders. IOS 16.1 will add support for new Matter Accessories to the Home app, allowing users to control smart home accessories.
