The University of Masaric was founded in 1891 and Tomáš Garrique Masaryk filed a motion in the Vienna Imperial Parliament to establish a second Czech university in Moravia. Until the end of World War I and after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, he submitted a petition to the Council in support of the establishment of a university in Brno. Therefore, on January 28, 1919, the Czech Republic University, which has four colleges - the School of Law, the School of Medicine, the School of Science and the School of Liberal Arts, was established in Brno. It is of course named after Tomáš Garrique Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia, who has made outstanding contributions.
