Clothes and gifts to the shoe: Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu had eleven sons. In addition to Emperor Ming of Han Liuzhuang , one of the other ten died prematurely and nine were crowned kings. Among these nine princes, four of them rebelled, or were considered to be rebelled. This proportion is really not low!
Rebellion is a bit long, so we will talk about it in two chapters.
first, King of Guangling Liu Jing
King of Guangling Liu Jing is the younger brother of Emperor Ming Liu Zhuang and the son of Queen Yin Lihua. It is said that he was anxious and insidious, likes to harm others behind his back, and "has talent but likes grammar."
[Liu Jing, as the younger brother of a compatriot of Liuzhuang, performed a bit eye-catching]
In 57 AD, Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu passed away, and the coffin was placed in the front hall. Everyone cried so hard that they were overwhelmed. At this time, Liu Jing, the king of Shanyang (capital Changyi , northwest Changyi Town, Jinxiang County, Shandong Province), also cried with everyone, but they cried very dullly and were not so heartless. Afterwards, Liu Jing pretended to be the Great Honglu (Minister of the Vatican Affairs) Guo Kuang wrote a letter to Liu Qiong, the King of Donghai (the capital of Lu County, Qufu City, Shandong Province).
Yi Cilu said: Liu Xiu Two queens were established before and after, and the former queen was named Guo Shengtong. Guo’s eldest son Liu Qi was made the crown prince, and Liu Jing wrote to him. Guo Kuang is the younger brother of Empress Guo and Liu Qian's uncle. In 41 AD, Liu Xiu deposed Empress Guo and made Yin Lihua the queen. In 43 AD, the crown prince Liu Qiang was demoted to the King of Donghai and the eldest son of Queen Yin, Liu Zhuang, was appointed as the crown prince. When Liu Jing wrote the letter, it was the time when Liu Xiugang died and Liu Zhuang had not yet ascended the throne.
The letter said:
The king (referring to Liu Qiang) was not at fault, but was rejected and abandoned, and the brothers were about to be sent to prison. (Guo) Empress Dowager was deposed and moved to Beigong to live. She was old and was driven to live in remote areas. Everyone in the world felt sad, and everyone who witnessed her was sore. When the empress dowager's corpse and coffin were placed in the mourning hall, the officials of Luoyang Luoyang beheaded guests from house to house, and some families even had three people buried in the corpse hall. This was a tragic thing in the world!
Yi Cilu said: In 41 AD, after Guo Shengtong was abolished, Liu Xiu appointed Guo Shengtong's other son Liu Fu as the King of Zhongshan (the capital of Lu Nu, Hebei Province, Dingzhou City, ), and Guo Shengtong as the Queen Mother of Zhongshan. In 44 AD, Liu Xiu changed Liu Fu to Prince Pei (the capital of Prime Minister, Huaibei City, Anhui Province), and Empress Guo became Empress Dowager Pei and appointed Guo Kuan as the Great Honglu. In 52 AD, Liu Li, the son of Emperor Xuan Han, Shouguang Hou, was favored by Liu Fu. He resented the Emperor established by the Red Eyebrow Group, and killed his father Liu Xuan. So, he led his guests to kill Liu Penzi's brother Liu Gong . Liu Xiu was furious and arrested Prince Pei Liu Fu, and was detained for three days before he was released. Afterwards, an edict was issued to all counties and counties to search for all the guests of the princes and execute them. The guests confessed and pulled each other, and thousands of people were killed (see my article "
[Liu Qian, it's not a material for rebellion]
Yi Cilu said: Fusu and Jiang Lu were both the sons of Qin Shihuang, and were both sentenced to death by the second emperor Hu Hai. Before his death, Jiang Lu looked up to the sky and shouted three times: Heaven, I am not guilty!
Historically said that Liu Jing "loved grammar", which is indeed amazing! This letter is indeed of level, literary talent, examples, reasoning, passion, destiny, arbitrary and vast oceans, and extremely inflammatory. In particular, there is a large passage in the letter using "celestial phenomena" to prove that it can rebel, and it is powerful The temptation. I am ashamed that I really don’t understand the celestial phenomena part, so I can’t read it in detail, so I have to cover it in one sentence. I attach the original text here. Interested readers can refer to it (original text: This year, Xuanyuan Star has white energy. The Xing family and those who are happy about the fun are all said that the white energy is lost, and the position of the heroine Xuanyuan is the heroine. Taibai also goes out of the west, and the soldiers are the soldiers who are on the Wu side. The prince star is also dark, and it turns red on the day of Chen. He is a sick man, and the king works hard to do it). If he changes someone, he might jump up and rebel. However, he meets Liu Qi, which is useless to waste the talent of this letter, haha.
Liu Qi was almost scared to death when he received this letter. He immediately captured the slave who delivered the letter, sealed the original envelope, and presented it to Emperor Ming Liu Zhuang.Because Liu Jing was the younger brother of the same mother, Liu Zhuang kept the matter secret and ordered Liu Jing to leave the capital and move to Henan Palace (now Luoyang City, Henan Province).
Liu Jing was depressed all day long and didn't know how to resolve it. in 58 AD, Xiqiang rebellion occurred. Liu Jing suddenly felt energetic and hoped that the Western Qiang rebellion could cause changes, so he asked fortune tellers to discuss it. After Liu Zhuang heard about it (we said before that Liu Zhuang had eyes and ears in his hands. Of course, he had to closely monitor his younger brother like Liu Jing, who likes to cause trouble), and changed Liu Jing to the King of Guangling (the capital Guangling, Jiangsu Province, Yangzhou City ), and sent him back to his fiefdom.
In 66 AD, , Liu Jing summoned the minister to come to see the minister and said, "Among our brothers, my face is most similar to that of the late emperor. When the late emperor was thirty, I am now thirty years old. Can you raise an army?" After hearing what he said, his heartbeat was almost stopped. After fooling Liu Jing, as soon as he left the palace, a cigarette rushed to the relevant departments to report the matter. Liu Jing was also very frightened when he heard that he was accused. He didn't wait for the emperor to speak, so he would just put a bed and roll it into the prison. Liu Zhuang was particularly grateful and did not pursue the matter, but deprived Liu Jing of his political power and only allowed him to continue to collect taxes from the banned country, so he still had to live. At the same time, the prime minister and lieutenant of the country were ordered to guard Liu Jingyan.
【We are not missing in any era and anywhere! 】
However, this Liu Jing may be a devil. After returning home from prison, he asked a wizard to conduct sacrificial activities and initiated a curse (don’t ask, no matter what he reads, he will be cursed in the end; no matter who he curses, he will be cursed in the end, he will be cursed in the end, haha). Liu Zhuang issued an edict to investigate and verify the Changshui Captain Fan Jin (son of Liu Xiu's uncle Fan Hong. Feng Liu reads Ruzhao) and Ren Wei (son of Ren Guang, one of the twenty-eight generals of Yuntai). After the investigation, Fan Jin and others wrote a letter, suggesting that Liu Jing be executed.
Liu Zhuang was very angry and said, "You are just because King Guangling is my younger brother, so you want to kill him. If it is my son, it depends on how dare you!
Fan Feng raised his head and said seriously that the world is the world of the High Emperor, not the world of His Majesty. According to the great righteousness of the Spring and Autumn Annals, the king’s close relatives shall not commit murder and rebellion, and they shall be killed if there is. Therefore, Duke Zhou killed his younger brother, and poisoned his elder brother, and the scriptures gave them high praise. Because King Guangling is the younger brother of Your Majesty's mother (Yin Lihua died in 1964), Your Majesty is compassionate to him, so we ask Your Majesty for advice. If it were His Majesty's son, we would not report at all and would kill him directly.
After hearing this, Liu Zhuang sighed and expressed his approval to Fan Feng.
Yi Cilu said: Explain the matter between Zhou Gong and Ji You. Zhou Gong's younger brothers, , Guan Shu , , Cai Shu , spread rumors that Zhou Gong's regent was not conducive to King Cheng of Zhou, so Zhou Gong punished them, killed Guan Shu, and exiled Uncle Cai. "Zuo Zhuan" says that Zhou Gong killed Shu Guan and Shu Cai, did he not love them? It's just for the royal cause. Duke Zhuang of Lu was sick, Ji You wanted to succeed the throne like a young master, and his elder brother Uncle Ya wanted to become Qing's father, so Ji You poisoned Uncle Ya to death. " Gongyang Zhi " says that Ji Zi killed his brother of the same mother, He Shaner? If you kill your brother, you cannot avoid your brother. This is the great righteousness of the ruler and his subjects. Both of these things are quite interesting, and those who are interested can learn about it on Baidu.
In 67 AD, Liu Jing committed suicide and the country was banned and removed. Liu Zhuang gave him the posthumous title of King Si.
second place, Jinan King Liu Kang
Jinan King (the capital of Dongpingling, Shandong Province Zhangqiu City ) Liu Kang is the son of Empress Guo. In 54 AD, the court transferred the six counties of Pingyuan County (Shandong Province Pingyuan County ) to Jinan Kingdom. Liu Kang did not comply with the laws in his fiefdom and dated guests. After 57 AD, someone wrote a letter to Liu Kang recruited cunning people Yuyang (Miyun County, Beijing) and gave them a lot of silk to them. Based on the books (referring to mysterious prophecies such as the Hetu and Luoshu), they planned to make mistakes. Liu Zhuang sent someone to verify it, and the relevant departments found it true after investigation.Liu Zhuang felt that they were all brothers and could not bear to find out the truth, but he cut off Zhu A and other five counties as punishment.
Yi Cilu said: Remember this Yan Zhong, this guy seemed to be very energetic back then, and we will talk about him later.
is fourth, Huaiyang King Liu Yan
Yi Cilu said: According to the order of rebellion, Huaiyang King Liu Yan is fourth, we will talk about him in advance because the third King Chu Liu Ying is the highlight, and we will talk about it in detail later.
King of Huaiyang (Capital Chen County, Huaiyang County, Henan Province) Liu Yan is also the son of Empress Guo Shengtong. He is arrogant by nature and extremely luxurious, and treats his subordinates "as cruel and ruthless as the severe winter." In 73 AD, , someone wrote a letter to the court to accuse Liu Yan, his younger wife's brother Xie Yan (read Ruyan), and his sister Princess Guantao's husband and son-in-law Han Guang, found a group of cunning people, fabricated prophecies (read Ruyan) and performed sacrifices and curses.
Liuzhuang sent someone to investigate is true.
On May 25, Xie Yan, Han Guang, Situ Xing Mu and others were all executed, and many people were implicated and executed or exiled.
Relevant officials should execute Liu Yan. However, Liu Zhuang believed that Liu Yan's crime was less than that of King Liu Ying of Chu (more on the topic later, the King of Chu rebelled and was not sentenced to death). In July, Liu Yan was renamed King Fuling (the capital Fuling, southeast of Quanjiao County, Anhui Province), and used two counties as his fiefs.
[Huaiyang King Liu Yan's entertainment project: rebellion]
Liu Yan has been transferred to the fore, but he is resentful. In 76 AD, , someone sued Liu Yan and his son Liu Feng to plan to rebel. The relevant departments requested to take Liu Yan to the Tingwei (Ministry of Justice) to jail. At this time, Emperor Ming Liu Zhuang had passed away, and the prince succeeded to the throne, and was Emperor Zhang. Liu Wei issued an edict to demote him to Fuling Hou and have a fief of a county. At the same time, Liu Qi and others were pardoned, and no investigation was made. An eunuch was sent to guard Liu Yan's country and no interaction with officials were allowed.
In 87 AD, , Liu Yan restored the title of King Liu Yan and was then granted the title of King Fuling, with a fief of five counties. In 89 AD, , Liu Yan died and was posthumously named King of Qi. According to the posthumous law, it is said that the name is unhappy.
Yi Cilu said: Liu Xiu, Liu Zhuang, and Liu Yan, the three emperors of the Eastern Han Dynasty, were also practitioners and implementers of Mingzhang's rule. One common feature is that they are very emotional to their sons and brothers, and no matter how serious the crimes they committed, they have never been killed. But he was not so polite to his ministers. Liu Xiu forced him to death or killed several prime ministers, and the same was true for Liu Zhuang. Situ Xing Mu was killed just over a year after taking office. His predecessor was named Yu Yan, who died because King Liu Ying of Chu was imprisoned. Next time we will talk about "Daxing Chu Prison".
