Communiqué of the First Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China

The First Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing on October 25, 2017.
204 Central Committee members and 172 alternate Central Committee members attended the plenary session. Members of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection attended the meeting.
Comrade Xi Jinping presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech after being elected as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
The plenary session elected members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, and general secretary of the Central Committee; according to the nomination of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee were approved, and members of the Central Military Commission were decided; and the candidates for secretary, deputy secretary and member of the Standing Committee elected at the first plenary session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection were approved.
